Actually, apparantly we (the private schools) are being "allowed" to play the public schools in the regular season....they just send us to our rooms for the post-season.

Kind of like having a birthday party for a 5 year old, when ony the "chosen" get to spend the night after the festivities.

Cowards!

I respectfully disagree. I believe that addressing this issue is long over due. although throwing the baby out with the bath water may not be the best solution, it may be the easiest. That way the "privates" can get together and "address the issue" and come back at a later date with a possible compromise, although I seriously doubt that would happens since they have not been willing to compromise in the past or presently on this matter.

Once again you are seeing it as a punishment and it is not. "Privates" will have their own state championship. You will have a post season. Everything will be just as it is, with the exception that you will only be playing other private schools.

Really it would open up some things for the privates such as bringing in and playing other high profile programs. You want good competition, well its out there, go and play it. Scheduling would be much easier, and the opportunity for big gates is even better.

What some public school supporters don't understand is the drastic difference in size in private schools and how few of us their are. It would be impossible for a majority of private schools to compete with Trinity,St.X,CCH, and Lex Cath.

The only sports I see this working is Basketball and Soccer.

You may be right, some don't understand. I understand fully and completely. Only when they are seperated and some of the smaller privates start making the same complaints as the publics are making now, then and only then will they understand.

I never said it was completely fair, but it is equal and that is all it needs to be. Fair does not me equal. Nor does equal mean fair. That may be what this whole fight is about.

I wouldn't have a complaint worth anything to complain about. Not one of those 4 schools should have to decrease size to make the field more competive and it would be almost impossible to increase HC size to that magnnitude without outright recruitment.

The so called advantages a Single A private has over a Single A public is not near an advantages Trinity has over any single A private.

Where did I say that? I said any advantage you think Small school privates have over small school publics is not even close to the advantage a trinity has over a small school private.

I admited nothing or agreed with nothing you said.

Why in the world would the private schools come back, once they were kicked out? If the private schools are kicked out, then you'll see more advantages for these private schools and the publics will be playing themselves, in the pre-season, regular season, and post-season.

You'll see teams like Trinity, St. X, Covington Catholic & Lexington Catholic crossing the river into Ohio to play Elder, St. X, Colerain and other powerhouses, and then you'll see them travel to Tenn. to play Brentwood and other Tenn. schools that will attract much more attention and $$$ on a much more regular basis than they do now.

I agree that they can have bigger gates that way. But they will want to come back, heck they don't want to leave.

That is simply not true.

I'm sure going into any basketball season small private schools like Holy Cross, NCC, St. Henry, Brossart and especially Calvery Chrisitan and Heritage know that they face a very difficult challenge taking on much larger schools in their regions ......and should they somehow survive and advance will be the 14th-16th largest school out of 16 at Rupp. So good luck NCC vs Male, Holy Cross vs Warren Central. However these schools are the very ones saying "thats fine we will try our best and take our lumps if need be".

Same thing goes for other sports Sure Assumption and Sacred Heart are nearly impossible to defeat in volleyball but little St. Henry would love to give it shot this year.

Is that fair? Is that equal? Who cares thats the way it is.

#1....both the larger and smaller private schools FULLY understand the advantages/disadvantages of their situations, both respective to comparison to public schools and other privates.
