After being down by as many as 12 points, CovCath comes back to win and even their record to 4-4 on the season. CovCath out scored Campbell County 24-10 in the fourth quarter as Trey Evans hit three of his four attempts from the charity line to preserve the Colonels victory.

 

Jake Thelen led CovCath with 24 points while hitting 10/12 from the floor and he also had 9 boards while Trevor Wellbrock had 12 points.

Junior and he is going to be getting better and better as the season goes forward. Really didn't get to play all that much last year as he broke his elbow!

Cov Cath came out in a 2-2-1 press and the Camels could not break the press and lost their composure in the 4th quarter. They did not seem to attack in the middle and break the press. Great comeback for the Colonels. Tough loss for the Camels but they will learn from this and get better. The Camels missed Smith who is out with a broken arm.

What won't go noticed in the boxscore is the adjustment that Mike Listerman made by putting Alex Connelly at the point of the press. His length and athleticism really caused problems for the Camels. In addition, with the exception of maybe one pass, he did very well in feeding the post.

 

With that said this team is tough to enjoy.

I am glad to hear this. Seems like coach has not used as much of the athleticism as this team has available. Alex, Schult, Maschinot have not played much this year it seems. Maybe the other guys will start getting in more.

Maschinot played a lot early. Did OK. Not great. Schult did not play.

 

Early in the season is when you try different lineups and find out who you can count on. The bench has gotten a bit shorter already.

If I remember correctly, Campbell had a huge lead late in the 4th a couple of years ago against CCH and lost that one as well.

Well, glad to here Maschinot got in, but disappointed Andrew not getting off the bench. I mean, if Alex is on the point in the press, you have Schult out there you should be able to cause some turnovers.

Jolly has a nice offensive game. Quick shot.
