If Covcath could get big games out of both Thelen and Wellbrock on the same night, they'd be tough to beat. Seems like when Thelen has a big night, Wellbrock has an "ok" or below average night and vice versa.

I haven't really noticed that. In most games it seems like they were the top 2 scorers and rebounders. They are definitely the first and second options offensively.

I liked their offense overall. Essentially they were playing 5 2s and 3s. They run a nice offense for that bunch. Open post. Lots of dribble penetration and kick outs.

 

I also thought they did a nice job of applying pressure on the perimeter.

 

They didn't handle CCH's pressure in the 2nd half. I assume their injured PG would have helped.

 

Overall, I liked their team.

 

I agree with your assessment Clyde--CC lacking a true center or even a good sized 4. They will get after you defensively, and I'm sure they missed their PG last night in crunch time; as they don't seem to be very deep. They can run some decent half-court "O", and will get out & run if they have the opportunity. They need to develop some more threats offensively to compliment Jolly IMO.

What won't go noticed in the boxscore is the adjustment that Mike Listerman made by putting Alex Connelly at the point of the press. His length and athleticism really caused problems for the Camels. In addition, with the exception of maybe one pass, he did very well in feeding the post.

 

With that said this team is tough to enjoy.

 

That type of adjustment is what you get when you have good coaching.
