Gone is the tradition of inadequate parking, clearing the gym and then standing in line to see if you get to buy a ticket for the next game, sitting with someones knees in your back, lack of restrooms, poor ventilation, longer drives, lack of good dining choices before and after games, etc...

Shooting in a big arena is a HUGE factor. If anyone of you have played in big arena's or gyms in the past, you will get my point. I believe if the 13th is going to be played in this arena, then do not let any teams practice or play in the arena before the tourney.

A very good point. No one in the 13th region should be playing or practicing in that arena until they step on the floor to play in the regional tournament. No One......

It is a business and no way affiliated with Corbin High School. If a promoter has the money to host a basketball event there and accepts teams from the 13th Region, so be it. But remember, the promoter must pay a rental. It's a business, you know making money.:thumb:

Ticket prices and ticket access concern me. $9.00 for 2 games is basically what was paid in the boys regional for the semifinals only, with the split session. First round games have been a doube session @ 5.00 and the finals of course a single session at 5.00 also. At this price, to attend all 4 nights is an increase of 12.00. This could be an issue for some students. Especially when there is more than one kid in the family.

 

Concessions will be much higher, compared to a high school.

 

As for ticket distribution. The arena uses ticketmaster. Will there be a service charge on that 9.00 ticket and if so how much ?? Will they be available at the box office and if so, will there be a surcharge?? And more importantly, will the people in corbin have access, because of location, purchase the better seats, and buy the tickets at a better price at the box office while everyone scrambles online and pays a fee to ticketmaster ???

All of that is taken care of .... also it simply states in the proposal voted in The Arena will offer items at a reduced cost to help with the large expense already being incurred by families and students.:thumb:

Just bought some tickets for Rockettes in Rupp online with Ticketmaster. Additional

charges per ticket was Facility Charge 2.50 per ticket. Convenience Charge 9.55 per ticket. That must be the way The Arena will take care of folks in this area for our 13th.
