McCreary Central

Jones and the boys have stepped up in the scheduling department again this season. I guess after improving it last season and seeing how far they made it in the tournament, it finally hit them that playing good opponents make you better.

Better teams for this year:

Dunbar - Home - WIN last season at Dunbar

Corbin - Home - 13th Region Champion last season

Anderson County - Home - lost last season @ Anderson

Lexington Catholic - Away - Played in Christmas tournament last season (L)

**Scott County is listed twice, but I think it will end up being Scott County, TN - not KY.

Blanche Ely, Florida is also in McCreary's ARBYS/KFC Tournament. They had a player graduate last season and receive a scholarship to Houston of the CUSA.

Battle of the Bluegrass

Republic Bank Classic

How will the boys in Maroon and Gold fare?

I was incorrect. They do play Scott County, Kentucky twice. And if they end up playing Blanche Ely, they will be playing the 6A State Champions of 2007 and going against a coach who has won 3 State Championships in Florida.

They may have the toughest schedule in the entire state.

Should be McCreary Central and West Jess. for a trip to Rupp this season. I also thought East Jess. had some nice talent this summer.

You are being sarcastic aren't you?

I agree that their schedule is tougher than usual but the "toughest in the entire state"? Almost every team in the 7th or 11th has a tougher schedule than McCreary.

I commend Coach Jones for making his schedule tougher this year and trying to get some exposure for his players and hopefully preparing for the post season. Good luck to McCreary.

I mean playing games outside of their own region. Lex Cath has to play Scott twice and so on...

But from every other region that is not REQUIRED to play against Scott, LexCath, Anderson, Corbin, then no, I'm not being sarcastic.

They have a very competitve schedule, but look at Scott Co's, Holmes, and GRC's. IMO they have the more competitive schedules.

I just look at it in the basis of who each team HAS to play, and who each team schedules to be better. Perhaps I am wrong.

How did Raider Rob and the Raiders fare yesterday?

I don't know, and I wondered the same. I haven't spoken to anyone about it.

McCreary won by 6, 54-48 I believe.

Rule 13

Coach Jones has the horses and is going to test them. This will make them better and get them ready for a run in March.

Did McCreary lose a starter to ACL?

Potential starter.

Who?

They may enter the post season just about .500, but after playing the top team in the 13th, 14th, and the top two teams in the 11th, there will be nothing that they haven't seen and no team in the 12th will be as good as those teams they have faced.

This will help them in the end. I'd say that McCreary will probably win most of their 12th Region Games, but their overall record won't be as pretty.
