Greenwood would like nothing more than to play for the championship in their own backyard. Not going to happen. This game will be a much bigger blowout than the SK game. 55-7.

Are you assigned to do the scouting for the St. Matthews contingent? From all your posts, you always seem concerned about the time and location for the teams who could potentialy play Trinity the next week. It wouldn't work too well if you ended up at the wrong place or arrived at the wrong time. :lol:

Back to the Greenwood/Saint Xavier game, I'm having a hard time analyzing how I think this will come out. The Tigers will have a couple hours travel, which will have some negative effects. The Tigers will also be playing on a natural grass field, on which rain will be rain is predicted for both Wednesday and Thursday before the game. This will negatively impact any speed advantage which they may have.

 

I definitely need to think a little longer on this one, because I have a feeling that this game will be much closer than many are predicting.

That the difference between 7 TDs and 4 TDs?

 

This is the best team that Greenwood has ever had, especially defensively. I think they can make a game of it for a little bit if they can avoid turning the ball over, which has been their biggest weakness all year. But they've either never seen a team like St. X, or only have when Bowling Green was at their pinnacle. And not referencing the BG teams of this decade, I'm talking 1995 state champion Bowling Green. So they have no idea what they're in for, which is wave after wave of skilled players where the backup to the starters would often start for Greenwood.

 

Long and short of it, I can see the Gators hanging in for about a quarter, but as the game wears on, X will do what they do and win by 35-42 points. IMO.

Forecast is actually clear all week---only slight (20%) of rain on Wednesday. So shouldn't have to worry about a wet field.

Thanks for the honesty. I think both X and T are down this year as compared to years' past. Still great teams but just not as good as we've become accustomed to.

 

If Buehner is healthy X isn't going to lose. He's that good.

He is getting much better each week and is now close to being fully there. His run/pass threat, plus his leadership and intelligence, add a vital extra dimension to the Tiger offense. I think he was the main difference factor in the earlier X/T game.

Moving "Wootus" to LB has opened up the backfield to our speed backs. BB will not turn the corner with the ball in his hand this week, but he will next week. I am nervous hearing how fast our probable opponent's defense is. Those freshman can fly.......heehee :laugh:
