I can’t remember a game with so many fans, coaches, and players of other teams in attendance. It was a great atmosphere. Just in the area where I was sitting there was a couple from Mayfield, which was surprising since they had their own dog fight going on, and former players from PT, Riedland, Marshall, and Graves County.

Congrats Falcons. I'll be rooting you on the rest of the way. Great effort by the Tigers, as well.

Congrats to the Falcons. You're on your way to #3. All of us in the Purchase are proud of Murray's Tigers! Great effort and fantastic season!:thumb:

We made the drive from Fort Campbell to Murray, heading up I24 towards Cadiz and cutting across LBL. I don't like those narrow bridges. I know that they're wide enough for two lane traffic....but I just don't like them.

 

We ate our pre-game meal at Culvers. It was really good. Fast food, but not your typical fast food. I got the mushroom swiss burger and my wife got the regular butter burger.....both were tasty and tender.

 

We could hardly find a parking spot at the game, but finally got ourselves into a good spot and made our way into the "stadium". I met with The Scribe before the game and got a good little history lesson on the stadium and what to expect as far as where the Murray fans line up.

 

The place was packed, as FC said, there were prolly 5,000 folks packed in there.....nice and tight. Boy was it loud. Obviously, because of the halftime score, Murray's fans were fairly quiet in the first half, cheering loudly at the one score and the big Murray plays. But when they came out in the second half and Murray came back on the Falcons.......that place was rockin! With all of that said, you could have heard a pin drop (on the Murray side) when Tre Powell caught that pass with seconds left on the clock.

 

Overall, it was a great football experience. One that I hope gets duplicated (in a larger setting) this week as Fort Campbell hosts Monroe County @ APSU.

Always good to meet up with you Bill and to get to meet Mrs. Bill. And it was nice to talk to FC after the game. I enjoy getting to watch a game on the sidelines from time to time and that one was the perfect game to do so. I will likely see you guys again Friday.
