Let's be honest here. Boyle County's playbook consists of one thing. Hand the ball to McShara and hope he gets a big play. Now I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that for he is a great back, but how much of an expansive playbook does Boyle trully have?

 

How many games did you attend, to, come to that conclusion. Sorry to say that is absolutely all that coach Mason has to offer. But he made it work in the past maybe he'll get lucky in the future.:isurrender:

For the record, I have seen Boyle play a lot the last few years and this team does not remind me even of last years team. Simply put the passing game will have to improve to win it all! Wish I could come but will be watching games closer to home!

I do truthfully believe that. Rees makes this team special. Average line. Average receivers. Average Quarterback. Rees makes this team look like worldbeaters. In the 3 games I've watched Boyle County I've yet to see a true sustained drive. Just big plays broken by Mr. Mcshara.

Nice.:thumb: There is nothing "average" about this Rebel team. Their 12-0 record confirms that. I'm not afraid to admit Catholic makes me nervous, given how close recent games have been. I still think the Rebs get it done.

Exactly my point. I'm just not so sure that other option is as good.

Boyle has tougher kids and in the end that will be the difference. Rebels will win this one by 7-10 points.

Just out of curiosity, what 3 games did you watch? If you haven't seen any of the last 2 games, then you'll likely be surprised this coming Friday. The whole month of October was spent running in the mud, the beginning half of the season was spent being up by 20-30 points at halftime with no reason to show off the playbook.

 

Until someone proves they can shut down Rees for a whole game and not for 1 half, why should we show or tell you what our other option is? You'll just have to wait and see if LexCath can make us do other things to make us sustain a drive.

 

Our line may be "smaller" than most, but I can assure you that they are far from average. For someone who has seen 3 games but has yet to see a sustained drive because Rees is breaking off long td scoring runs, well, average lines don't perform like that. Average lines don't open up the holes Rees needs to continue to be special. That's a special group of O-Linemen as well.

With only 1 team able to put the ball in the endzone more than once this year in a game, we have not needed many options. Untill someone stops our first, no one will ever know for sure.

This is a different team from last year's team. They are being asked to do different things on the field. Doesn't make any team any worse or any better. They were both excellent at doing what was asked of them every Friday night. What more can you ask for?

 

 

Your qb doesn't have to throw for 250 yards a game for the passing game to be considered improved. And do you really have to have a passing game to win it all if......

 

1.) No one can score on your defense

 

2.) No one can stop your RB for a whole game

 

 

In my mind, if we get to 14 points first, we win.

I think that may be more of a play on the fact that Catholic is seen as more of a finesse team or a play on the city/county stereotype. We know how tough those boys are.:thumb:

First meeting, Lexington Catholic had 19 yards rushing for the game. Raglin had 13 of them on 12 attemps, Ward had 5 yards on 10 attemps, and Ramsey 1 for 1. Instead of worring about our options, you better worry about the yours.:lol:

some people said Boyle County closed the playbook and dared LexCath to score 22 points on them.

 

Did Boyle County not score on a hook n lateral? I think that is pretty opened up. Plus Rees is the playbook. Rees is the MAN and I dont think any high school team can stop him for a whole game. Rees is a highlight waiting to happen because at anytime, any play or any where he lines up he can take it to the house. Boyle needs to work on pass D. CB and S dont look to be that great cover guys but they do tackle very well in back there when they get to. Which is not that much. This will be a great game.

 

This was the same play we ran on them last year in the playoffs, so no, using recycled plays against the same team is not opening up the playbook. They had seen that before. Plus, I was referring more to the second hal when LexCath "shut down Boyle."

 

I agree with SARR's assessment that we weren't that aggressive in the 2nd half of the last game either. That won't happen this time around either.

All of this talk about our offense and lack of options:rolleyes:, but don't we have the #1 defense in the state?
