November 13, 200916 yr Did he get that in Fort Thomas? I've seen one like that in my neighborhood this fall...... There are numerous Bucks that look like this one that wonder the streets of Ft Thomas. This Buck was killed on Our Family farm in Southern Campbell County.
November 13, 200916 yr There are numerous Bucks that look like this one that wonder the streets of Ft Thomas. This Buck was killed on Our Family farm in Southern Campbell County. Thats way too much information TBirds,JK. The Bucks in Ft. Thomas only eat steak and eggs, this deer had a belly full of corn. This buck ran no more than 60 yds after I stuck him. I had him broadside at 23 yds and as soon as I touched the release he wheeled and I actually hit him on an angle through the hind quarter but the arrow passed through him toward his vitals. I commented earlier on the Rage Broadheads and I swear by them now after this shot. Not sure if any other broadhead could have cut the hole that this blade did.
November 13, 200916 yr Two awesome bucks, guys. Congrats to you both. I can't wait for this weekend. Hopefully, all of us hunter's on BGP will have "bragging pics" to show.
November 13, 200916 yr Congrats Sweeperboy on a nice buck! Good luck to all the deer hunters in the morning. Be safe and God Bless!
November 13, 200916 yr Sweeperboy's latest and greatest score with a bow... Is that his first ever kill. He still looks shocked!!!!!:eek::eek:
December 2, 200916 yr I shot this buck on my farm in Pendleton Co. on the last day of gun season at 5pm. He has 14 scorable points with a 17" inside spread. I have several videos from my game camera on him. He had an injured front left foot which is noticeable in the video attached.

I have been told that when a deer is injured severly or crippled his antler growth will be drastically reduced on the opposite side of the injury the next year. Apparently the brain tells the body to send more calcium to the injury and robs the antler of symethrical growth. So with that said he probably would have never been as perfect as he was this yr. Great Buck and your timing was even better. :thumb:
December 3, 200916 yr Sweeperboy's latest and greatest score with a bow... Both Sweep and the deer have the same look....

Great Buck and your timing was even better. :thumb: I have read the same thing. I really doubt this deer would have made it thru the winter if it was a bad one. He had zero body fat. In all my 43years of deer hunting I have never seen a deer without a little fat on his body. I know some bucks are thinner because of the rut, but he does not even show any signs of being in rut. No swollen neck and no bad odor. Although I seen him eating at the feeder several times he just did not put on any fat. He had lost a lot of muscle in that left shoulder, too.
