Mid Season MVP Award

Featured Replies

Check out those yards per attempt...only two guys on the list under 8.3. Also, 6 of the 7 have a rating of 100 or higher. It wasn't that long ago that a QB Rating of 100 was fairly uncommon.

My list of contenders would be all QB's. In no particular order...

Brett Favre - What can you say? He's been everything Minnesota hoped for and then some. He's playing great, he's been clutch, and they're 7-0.

241 YPG (68.0%), 7.5 YPA, 16 TD, 3 Int, 106 QB Rating

Aaron Rodgers - Like I said, he's holding Green Bay together...at least offensively.

284 ypg (65.3%), 8.8 YPA, 14 TD, 2 Int, 110.4 QB Rating

Drew Brees - Playing as well as he ever has, directing the most explosive and efficient offense in the league. And, the Saints look like the best team in football right now.

287 YPG (68.3%), 8.7 YPA, 16 TD, 6 Int, 107.6 QB Rating

Carson Palmer - The numbers don't stack up to the rest, but with 3 game-winning drives, he's largely responsible for the Bengals sitting at 5-2 instead of 2-5. Also, remember how horrible they were last year without him.

230 YPG (61.7%), 7.1 YPA, 13 TD, 7 Int, 89.2 QB Rating

Ben Roethlisberger - He's playing as well as ever, and who can doubt his importance to the Steelers success?

295 YPG (70.4%), 8.9 YPA, 11 TD, 6 Int, 102.6 QB Rating

Peyton Manning - Playing the best football of his career, IMO.

318 YPG (71.1%), 8.5 YPA, 15 TD, 4 Int, 109.3 QB Rating

Matt Schaub - He's finally healthy and the Texans offense is lighting up the scoreboard. They finally head into the second half of a season with a great chance at a playoff berth.

293 YPG (66.4%), 8.3 YPA, 16 TD, 7 Int, 100.5 QB Rating

A lot of great QB play in the NFL this season...

:thumb: Nice break down, and I would have to give it to Manning.

I think Peyton has the better numbers, but Brees is more valuable if that makes any sense.

He has put up solid stats, even though his O line is terrible.

14 TD's (6th in NFL)

284.1 Yards a game (7th in NFL)

110.4 QB Rating. (1st in NFL)

Only 2 Picks.

I agree that despite his line, he has been excellent this season. With the league high in sacks he has taken, he is still #1 in passer rating.

I think it proves that Ted Thompson may be an idiot. How about surrounding your QB with a little help to protect your investment.

For the MVP, I would probably have these 3 on top of the list.

Peyton Manning, Drew Brees & Brett Favre.

Favre has just made his team better. He is playing like a 29 year old in his prime and still has a great passion for the game. Hard to believe he is 40 years old and playing that way. Brees has just been awesome. Manning has been his typical self as one of the best the NFL has ever seen.

I might put Big Ben on that list as well. With virtually no running game, he has carried the Steelers offense on his shoulders for most of the season.

I can't believe you let him get away with that. :idunno:

I think Peyton has the better numbers, but Brees is more valuable if that makes any sense.

If you're going to use that argument, then you'd have to give multiple awards. There's no way a player could be more valuable to their respective teams than guys like Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, etc...

Good list from what I can see.

You may have misprinted this though in your line about Brett Favre but Minnesota is 7-1.
