ColonelCrazy
That wasn't my top 15 list, just a lot of names of great players I can think of. I got ya. Regardless, I wouldn't consider Graham or Hicks great players.
Log Mountain Boy
I got ya. Regardless, I wouldn't consider Graham or Hicks great players. Well Graham has had a successful college career and was a great athlete. And Hicks' performance his senior year in the Sweet 16 was one of the best I have ever seen all around. He did pretty much everything for his team.
Bad Bill
What about Ross Neltner from Highlands? He had a great high school career and went on to start for Vanderbilt.

See I knew I forgot some great players! I would replace Proffit on my list with Neltner and have Neltner in my top 15.

What about Justin Doellman? Went on to Xavier from Ryle High school and had a pretty nice college career. If we're talking strictly HS Neltner, Brock and Doellman were huge for NKY basketball. I understand they were all the same year, but they were all very good.
The Hulk.......2
Remember that Rondo was very young too, every list has to include Mayo though regardless of age.
dawgs83
No Larry O'bannon from Male. Played on several good Male teams that was state ruuner-up to Lafayette in 01 and played on uofL's final four team
Log Mountain Boy
Remember that Rondo was very young too, every list has to include Mayo though regardless of age. Rondo played through his junior year. I believe he only played one year at Oak Hill. I'm just not sold on putting OJ Mayo in front of any of those guys I have listed based solely on what he did before even getting to high school compared to what they did in their careers. Also, I never saw Doellman play in high school so I just can't really comment on him at all. As for Obannon, thats another great player from this decade! Tiger0334
There were a few Mr. Basketball guys I didn't even see on this thread. Brandon Stockton was a very good high school player. Maybe not a great college player. Preston Lemaster was an incredible high school player. Chris Lofton would be my unanimous #1 pick if we are stricktly talking high school career. Matt Walls was another I didn't see on the thread. How about Bud Mackey? I agree there are more solid players left of list. There are people like Casey Alsop from Scott County, Donte Smith (SP) from Oldham County, AJ Slaughter (SP) from Shelby County to name a couple more. kwl1977
I believe Bud Mackey has to be in the top five. As much of a knucklehead he was, he was just as great a basketball player. In the state finals he put on a display that maybe has not been matched since Farmer/Houston. I believe he scored 15-20 points straight in the second half for Scott County to win the state title. I also believe Matt Walls should be on the list. But that could be me being a Scott Co. fan. My 15: 1. O.J. Mayo - Rose Hill 2. Rajon Rondo - Eastern 3. Donta' Smith - Oldham Co. 4. JokersWild24
I based my list on the success they had after HS. Agreed on Mackey's talent tho. Basically, I started at the NBA, then worked down to PT at big-time D1 programs. Ravi Moss would be one name that I might add too.
