I remember back in the early 80's Bellevue had a team that on paper was far and away the better team.

This is exactly what LCA just did in the last 5 games of the regular season - they went 4-0(Scores of 200-0) within the District play and then defeated a VERY TOUGH and physical 2a Corbin last Friday nite 41-21.

 

LCA just has to maintain focus one game at a time and keep all players healthy - because in 1A - you are just one injury away from disaster.

 

Now I'm no math major, but TwoEagles brings up a great point, if you don't need your starters on the field for more than 2Q of football you're cutting the time of a potential injury to a starter in half. Big, big deal for 1A football... especially in playoff time. If you're good enough to win a championship, you should have no problem getting up for the "big games". I think an easier road to Bowling Green is a tremendous asset for Lexington Christian.

In region 3 I feel the 1st round winners will be: Williamsburg, Campbellsville, LCA and Raceland. I would love to see Nicholas Co win though. For travel purpose only. That would save us a 4hr. trip if we a luckly enough to get by a good Lynn Camp. :popcorn:

1A in general lacks depth! Football is a #'s game and the more kids you have dressed, the more likely you are to have depth. Thats why they classify Football in Kentucky versus other sports...Depth is critical and so you have to match schools up accordingly.

 

How many 1A schools do you know that have more than 50 kids dressed - this includes Freshmen who often times are playing as well?

With all due respect to all other teams, this year it is LCA's to lose. As long as they give the ball to Hayden on the fourth and goal from inside the one and not try to throw it, all will be good. LCA has alot of experience and great size. The QB mixes in well with a great running game.

 

I see Bellevue and Beechwood in a knock down drag out physical battle in round three. The winner of that game, beat up and bruised, wins the right to travel all the way to Mayfield. This will be too much to overcome in my opinion.

Which Bellevue stars dad said this? Let me clarify. Which Bellevue's stars dad (Whom knows anything about football) said this? If anyone's dad saw the game and didn't feel like his sons team had a chance to win next time I would have to question his knowledge of football. When your team only loses by 12 and you fumbled the ball 11 times and you can't see that they had a chance to win. Come on. I can't imagine a dad saying this. As a Bellevue Fan I think we win if these two are fortunate enough to meet again.

Bellevue has a great shot at beating Beechwood. I would rather lose the regular season game and win the rematch in the playoffs any day! I'm sure the 2008 Rams will agree. This is playoff time in Kentucky! Throw the records and who's played who out the window! It's anybodies championship to win.
