Lawrence is a good team, probably better than McCreary.

 

But I have this gut feeling that McCreary will run, and run, and run and win this game with some stout defense that they really haven't shown this season.

McCreary C. averages 29.6 ppg and gives up 27.9 ppg.

Lawrence C. averages 43.7 ppg and gives up 11.9 ppg

 

On offense LCHS is averaging 14.1 more ppg.

On defense LCHS defense is 16 less ppg. That total comes out to be 30.1 ppg difference for LCHS. That is a lot of point diffenence.

 

It looks like the strength of schedule is basically a wash. Both are very close to the same.

 

I know this is nothing more then stats ect. But after a full season it gives you a good indication of where these teams are and what they are going to do on the field. No it doesn't tell the complete story. But in this game the margin of points scored and giving up on defense along with the strength of schedules being about the same. Really looks like it is going to be Law. Co. the winner this game.

 

But you never know what is going to happen on any given night. I have seen tons of upsets in my life. And not much surprises me anymore. I hope both teams play hard and give it all. Then win or lose you can hold your head high.

I asked a guy how to get to Lawrence Co. from McCreary Central. He said you can't get there from here, you have to go to Ashland and start. I guess I'll leave tomarrow and hope the team shows up. If we win I want be in any hurry to get back home.

You know papagrit as well as I do we have a history of imploding but haven't had to deal with it too much this season. We are happy that our defense has improved over the last couple of weeks but is it enough is the question. We tend to be our own worse enemies at times. I would really love another shot at KC with some better field conditions just for some peace of mind but 1st we have a very, very good LC team to deal with and the military has lended them a tank to use as a fullback. All we can do is work hard this week take a 3 day drive and play as hard as we can for 48 min. If we do that we will be in the game at the end and win or lose LC will know who the Raiders are. Anything less than our A-game and we will be in for a rough game. But, I can say the same for LC. I hope both teams play their best injury free football game and the winner is the winner and we all shake hands and move on to what is next!

 

 

PS, Good luck to your Rockets papagrit although, if we both win it will kind of change the way we look at who really won and lost the MC-RC game!

I like you HOP. I've watched your posts all year and you are a good fan with respect for other teams. Give me a yell if you make it too the game. I would imagine the best way to come is I64 to Ashland. Right before you get to the WV line there is a huge Ashland Oil factory. Rt 23 is right there. You will take Rt 23 to Louisa for 20 minutes. If you need more directions than that then PM me. Should be a fun game. McCreary has a very explosive offense! Should be fun!:thumb: Hope you all have safe travels!

Nope, they are won in the trenches and with defense--McCreary has been dominated in both these phases of the game against every good team they have played. It isn't going to change on Friday.

Agree with you papagrit i am also go too go out on limb and say dis 7 makes clean sweep in the 1st round off the playoffs.

I disagree with you, I think Edmonson is a very good team and so is Wayne Co. Lynn Camp is hard hitting power team that has a very tough schedule. Most of everyone in 4-A would meet with the same fate as McCreary if they were playing KC, RC or Bell in their district. Make sure you notice that I said MOST not all, there are a few 4-A teams that would play them closer and maybe a couple or three that might be able to swing a win on 2 of them and the list gets shorter when you talk about Bell. If you want to gauge us by those three games go ahead but if you talk with the coaches of those teams they will tell you that McCreay came to play and hits as hard as anyone. Oh yea and I believe MC's jv beat the jumpers this year if I am not mistaken so the future is looking brighter as well!

I never said that McCreary would stop KC from scoring because KC has one heck of a power offense (which by the way the sloppy conditions favor) but I do think it would be a much close game and one that McCreary would possibly be in position to win at the end depending on turn-overs, penalties and special teams play.
