October 25, 200916 yr I was there,Cats played a good not great game, need to do better next week on the passing and those 3rd downs on both sides of the ball. But a 36-13 win was nice.GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 26, 200916 yr Glad to get the win and the main thing I take away from it is the depth of the UK team has finally reached a comfortable level. Even with lots of injuries UK handled a lesser team, although not pretty, they were never in any true danger of losing the game which wasn't always the case in years past. Newton has work to do, but I would rather see him under center full time (not counting Cobb's packages) and Fidler on the pine. I don't personally see the benefit of playing Fidler outside of giving him reps if Newton falls apart, but I do trust Brooks and company to make the best decisions for this team to be successful. Even if you aren't a Hartline fan it isn't hard to see why he was the starter until his injury in my opinion.
October 26, 200916 yr I do not think there is a better football player in the country than Randall Cobb!
October 26, 200916 yr A W is a W. Hats off to the ULM QB. That young man took a beating. :thumb: He took more absolutely 'knock you out of the game' shots then I have seen a QB take, and got up every time. That kid is flat out one tough cookie. It reminded me of the beating that Ragone took in the UK/UL game several years ago, but this was even worse. Cody Wells is a name I won't soon forget. An absolutely courageous performance. On the other side, ... Randall Cobb is just a playmaker and a winner. Hard not to love that kid.
October 26, 200916 yr A tweet from Micah Johnson "yours_truly4: on my way 2 get a MRI". So we should know more about his MCL later today.
October 26, 200916 yr It wasn't pretty, the defense gave up a lot of yards, but the Cats come away with the win. :thumb: Man, we've come a long way. It used to be losses to bad teams when "it wasn't pretty". I love it when a 36-13 win, against a decent opponent, isn't pretty. Personally, I believe it was a comfortable win. We took complete control of the game early and played conservatively the rest of the game. It was never in doubt. Not bad considering we played without the #1 quarterback and our two best defensive players-Lindley and Micah. I am happy!:ylsuper:

As you said the game was never in doubt, but I guarantee you that Coach Brooks, and Coach Brown weren't happy with the number of yards given up by the defense, and the number of 3rd down conversions by LA. Monroe.

My problem is that I'm historically used to teams like this taking us to the wire when we play ugly and we barely pull out the win or lose on a last second field goal. You can see I still have many mental scars that will be with me a long, long time.
October 26, 200916 yr I was very impressed with how hard we hit UL-Monroe on defense. I love a physical defense. A win is a win...on to Miss. St.
