Blackshirts, I hope you enjoy the the game and atmosphere. I hope we have a dry game so the crowd is as big as it has been the last two years for this game. I have to say this game has been one the best atmospheres for high school football the last two years, I hope this game doesn't disappoint.

 

It should be, as you predicted, a close game.

I am going to this game, I got to say I enjoy both Russell's and Raceland's fan bases alot, it makes a game like this fun to watch. For me it all most makes my season complete when the leafs turn colors and that chill in the air that makes fall what it is and yes High school football playoffs, this game will have it all. The competition between these two rival programs is just icing on the cake for me. This is a hard pick for me to make, Raceland and Russell have two of the best staff's in the state. Raceland I will predict now has a real shot at playing LCA in the Quarter finals of the playoffs, but I think Russell, when it comes down to it, will play better in the second half and maybe overtime because Russell is bigger up front and has a better running game, Russell winning 28-21 OT over Racland. Oh ya I can't sleep this is why my post is so late at night.

If what I hear is true about Russells pass defense we may have a high scoring ballgame this Friday.

I can promise you that Russell's coaching staff will have them ready to play.

What Raceland has to is to stay focused on the game plan that our fine coaching staff will put in place and the go out on Friday night and execute that game plan. Stay Focused, stay Diciplined, no stupid penalties, Play each play and HIT.

As always Rams, leave everything that you have got in you laying out on that field Friday night :thumb:. Ram seniors......this is your night, the last regular season home game that you will play on this field that you have worked, dedicated yourselves, spilled blood sweat and tears on from JFL untill now. Make it a Ram Victory, it would be considered an upset by many but I have seen countless Ram upsets of higher rated teams on this field throughout the years. This is Your House Rams!

I don't know if this will have an impact on the status of Friday's game, but Russell's schools are closed for the rest of the week due to the swine flu. I've heard it was done specifically to keep Travis Jones healthy for Friday's game. :-)

Yeah. I hope both teams have their full rosters healthy. It's bad enough that it's supposed to rain! A game marred by bad weather and illness wouldn't be the same.

He was taken for X-rays on his hand in the 2nd half of the LCA game. It is my understanding that it was not broke and he is going to the team doc for therapy. He should be ok is what I'm told. BUT doc must confirm that. It's all hear say from me.

 

Farley is ok and will play at 100% Friday night.

We could use another "Orange Crush Flu/swagger" epidemic. :thumb:

My idea would be to move this game to Saturday night when the weather is going to be good and the teams would have an extra day to heal from whatever might ail them. The rain will probably significantly reduce the amount of money that will be made off of this game. It's the last game of the regular season for both teams as both have their open week next week, so neither would have to work on a "short week" or anything.
