Final

Congrats Maroons!!! Seems like the pre-season talk was right, this is, the BEST PC team ever. Congrats on your First Ever DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

SW made too mistakes and it cost them. Had the ball 5 times in the redzone and only scored one TD. The refs blew some calls late in PCs favor. Not a bad game considering the conditions. Congrats to the Maroons.

I ask myself time and time again how Barren County beat Pulaski County.

WHAT?!!!!! You are kidding, right? What calls were in PC's favor? How about the opening kick off of the 2nd half when a SW player laid on the ground, picked up the ball, got up and took off up field. Everyone thought the play was over and gave him a chance for big return. He was down, and should have been called down at the 2. Or in the 4th qtr when Logan Joseph had his jersey pulled off of him as he chasing Turpin, right in front of the white hat but... no call.

As far as the mistakes. It was Pulaski's defense that STOPPED SW, not SW mistakes.

NO EXCUSES!!!!! Pulaski flat out beat Southwestern last night. AND beat them at their own game, running the ball and defense! Congratulations to the Pulaski County Maroons! DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!!!!!

SW's dline got held alot more. My brothers jersey had holes in it that were never there before. Also my brother got chopped blocked all game too and that was never called. When PC scored that last TD the wideout tackled our corner and it wasn't called. About that kickoff, the returner wasn't down, he got back up off of the ground when he got control of the ball. What do you call an interception and a dropped pass inside the 5 yard line? To me they sound like they were mistakes that took points off the board. I don't know what your idea of a mistake is but that wasn't PC's d, it was SW's own offense that stopped them.

The INT return for a TD is called DEFENSE!!!!! SW being stopped from doing anything what so ever in the 2nd half is called DEFENSE! We can sit down and watch play for play if you would like. The returner was down when he touched the ball, by the way. I have watched it several times from 2 different angles. Pulaski County driving 96 yards down SW's throat, taking over 8 minutes off the clock and getting a TD was the back breaker. For a team that was supposed to be so great on defense SW could not stop Pulaski's ground game. NO EXCUSES!! Pulaski was the better team last night!

Now, let's get a clean sweep in the playoffs and have a rematch for the Region Title. The only way it should be!

I can understand a dropped pass being on the offense but by definition isn't an interception a play made by the defense? :sssh: Particularly when the defender runs it back 94 yards for a touchdown? Sure sounds like maybe PC's defense had something to do with that play. Also, if PC's defense had nothing to do with it why wasn't SW simply running the ball near the goal line? Sounds like they couldn't line up and run it in against the Maroons.

As for holding, c'mon you obviously played football--everyone holds. I guarantee you that PC wasn't holding any more or less than the Warriors. If the referees weren't calling it either way that's one thing but I don't for a minute believe that only one offensive line was holding.

Face it all the conditions favored the Warriors last night and they were beaten at their own game. I picked SW and would have picked them by even more if I'd have known what the weather was going to be like. Congrats to Pulaski on their first ever District Championship. This one was a long time coming (26 or 27 years?). Good luck to both teams in the playoffs. :thumb:

I was not at the game but anytime you have 5 possessions in the redzone and only score once you have shot yourself in the foot. I agree defense has something to do with it but I have seen PC's defense and they ARE NOT good enough to stop anyone that many times unless the other team helps them out some. Just stating a fact!

You are right. You WERE NOT at the game! So your statement was an ASSUMPTION, not fact. PC stonewalled SW in the second half, controlling the game. You didn't see PC defense last night! Defense scored on a 95 yrd INT return. They stuffed SW 3 different times on 4th and short. SW did not shoot themselves in the foot. They did not get hosed by bad calls. They got STUFFED by Pulaski County's defense!!!!! Sorry you didn't see the game, you missed a great defensive performance by Pulaski County!

well if you go back and look at the film Turpin had a wide open reciever and made an errant throw which is a mistake. The eye in the sky don't lie if you watch the film you will see all the mistakes made by SW. SW is the better team and everyone knows it.

Well like I said before that pass was an errant throw. I know everyone holds but not like PC. What they was doing on the field they would be arrested out on the streets. PC's line held alot worse than SW's. The field conditions weren't in favor of anyone. That field was the worst ever and no one could move in it

Pulaski County was, and is, the better team. They proved it last night. You can whine and cry all you want. Everyone knows SW has NEVER lost a football game. They have either been cheated by refs, shot themselves in the foot, even had aliens come down from outer space and beat them. We can go back and forth about the horrible job the referees did, but the bottom line is this... PULASKI COUNTY MAROONS DISTRICT CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean Somerset is the County Champion this season? Isn't that what Coach Hines claimed for Pulaski after beating SW who had beaten Somerset?:lol::lol:

Seriously, congrats to the Maroons on their first ever District Championship and Southwestern for securing a home playoff game. All 3 local teams have had very good seasons. :thumb:

On a dry field PC can't keep up with us and that's why the field is always a

mess when these two teams play. I saw it earlier in the week and it didn't look like it did Friday night. It's terrible to have teams play in that
