All depends on Cresap. Shelby's a different team entirely with him in the lineup...

Cresap in or out, doesn't matter, Fern Creek has more athletes and a stronger D

The Creek 41-24

Can either of these teams challenge the top 6A schools this year in the playoffs?

I hear the Colonels are better than folks expected them to be.

I hear the Tigers can play with anyone on any given night if their QB plays well.

I find a lot of validity in this statement. If Cresap plays for Shelby County, then it is quite possible that he and Hynes (QB for Fern Creek) cancel each other out in the passing game. However, Fern Creek has far superior athletes in its rushing attack, with Moore, Jarrett, and Harrington.

Looking at totals to date, Fern Creek holds a big 1,671 to 908 advantage over the Rockets in rushing yardage, while Shelby County holds a slight 1,286-1,133 advantage over the Tigers in passing yardage.

Then looking at comparative scores against the common opponents of Seneca and Eastern, one sees the following:

Fern Creek 56 - Seneca 35

Shelby County 31 - Seneca 30

Fern Creek 54 - Eastern 28

Shelby County 41 - Eastern 34

Taking all of this into account, if Cresap is able to play for Shelby County, Fern Creek should win by about 17 points. If Cresap is not able to play, then Fern Creek's victory margin should be considerably higher than 17 points. Just one man's lowly opinion.
