Do you think the Panthers D steps up to stop Colisimo and Co. and Ludlow proves themselves to be better than most in NKY think? Do you think Beechwood takes an early lead and Rash uses the rest of the game to prepare for the playoffs?

It's a tall task for Ludlow as I believe it's been since '83 since they beat the Tigers. However I think if they can prevent the big play from happening they have a shot. The DB's can't let people behind them like they did last week because Rigdon won't overthrow those open recievers. The D-line might be the most important this week though. If they can get a little penetration and force double teams it will open things up for Drew Rice to do his thing from the middle backer position. If they do not force doubles and they get a linemen to Rice's level it could be a long night for Ludlow, because Rigdon will pick them apart and Colisimo will run forever if that happens.

Big test for Ludlow. This will tell everyone if they are contenders. I haven't seen them play yet, will their D be up to stopping the Beechwood Machine?

Ludlow was ranked #13 in the 1A poll this week. Obviously beating Beechwood the #4 team in the poll I believe, then they are ranked top ten next week? If they play Beechwood close do you think they are ranked? If so, how close must they play?

Beechwood is getting better every week. Players are being moved around to find the most effective lineup and the team has looked better the last few weeks, especially the defense. Ludlow should be a stiffer test than Dayton and Walton so it will be interesting to see if the improvement continues for Beechwood against a more difficult opponent. I think Ludlow has a couple of playmakers on offense so it will be good to see how the Beechwood defense handles them. Offensively, Beechwood is still struggling with their passing game with a lot of inconsistency. Rigdon has been great running the ball but he needs more accuracy passing it. Don't be surprised if Beechwood is still throwing the ball around even if they are up by a bunch. The passing game needs the work. I think Beechwood wins by 4 TD's or more.

I think the main thing for Ludlow would be being able to overcome the mental part of it. So many times it seems like just when Ludlow plays Beechwood, that once Beechwood does one or two things right. Ludlow starts to think oh great here we go again, and then it just keeps going down hill from there. Yeah it is a tall task for Ludlow this game, but anything is possible. Just have to come in there believing that they can win and play hard like they have all year, and if something goes wrong early just keep on fighting and don't give up.

I agree 100%. I saw that last year in the Beechwood / Ludlow game. It seemed like as soon as Beechwood got a couple of scores, Ludlow just lost that intensity you need to beat a good team. Once you do that, it is really over when you are playing a team like Beechwood.

I think if there is a coaching staff that can change that attitude at Ludlow it's this one. The kids really bought into the fact that Hornsby played at U of L and take in everything he says more than even he knows. Coach Logan is such a firey coach how could you not play every play like it was your last when you have a coach like that on your sidelines? You can tell he really truly cares.

Yes, they were both there last year, but it was their first year and we all know usually teams struggle at least the first year of a new system.

I'm sure Ludlow is up to the task. Heck, they have a kid on their team averaging 20 tackles a game.

If Ludlow is to hang around he will play a big part. As I said before, that D line getting some penetration will be huge. He's been free a lot this season. If they can get those guards to his level then 20 tackles means nothing when you're 10 yards down field. If he can meet them at the LOS it might be a different story. Only time will tell.
