The talent is there. The size isn't. This is the smallest Beechwood line in a long time. So when they face teams with size, they struggle. When they face teams closer in size to them, they are as dominant as they have been for the past few years.

Now, that is the perfect assessment of the Team... That also concerns me when we get deeper into the playoffs. We definitely have better overall team speed over past years teams.

Beechwood is to much for Ludlow.

56-7...:eek:...wow. Sure, I think Beechwood is looking better than they did at the beginning of the season, and I think they look better than Ludlow does all in all, but man, you think awfully highly of Beechwood - and awfully lowly of Ludlow.

I would never predict a score like that for this game. But,

 

Beechwood 49 Dayton 7 (Beechwood up 42-0 at end of Q1)

 

Ludlow 19 Dayton 12

 

Based on those scores, I wouldn't say he is totally off his rocker. Personally, I see something more like Beechwood 49 Ludlow 14.

Ludlow had 3 days to prepare and rest for that game after a varsity match up. Not saying Ludlow wins, I'm just sayin...

I personally have yet to see them this year. I heard they were down in size and in numbers for the entire program. Is that true? If yes, any ideas as to why?

Beechwood's freshman team has about 25 players but that includes some 7th and 8th graders. I think there are about a 12-14 freshmen playing. By the way, they have only lost one game with a showdown coming next Thursday against undefeated Cooper.

 

The senior class is small in numbers with only 8 seniors so that is having impact on varsity. Good numbers in the junior and sophomore classes. There is also some size in all the younger classes so this year is just one of those years as to the size of the line.

In a small school one short handed class can hurt the entire program. Beechwood should rebound. I see this being a game for a quarter or two with the Tigers pulling away.
