The Cards stranded 30 guys on base, but L.A. found a way to get them out. The Kemp HR in the first set the tone for the game. It was the first HR Carpenter had allowed in 10 games.

I was like stranding 30 runners and only scoring 3 runs. Man they were horrible last night. I tried going over the ways you could do it, but it's impossible..haha

27 would be mathematically the highest you could strand in a 9 inning game. 16 (and 14) is still a lot.

Waino better get the W tonight or the Cards are in deep trouble.

Franklin loses his cool and throws 4 straight balls to Martin with the third being a passed ball that advanced the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Bases loaded Loretta at the plate bring in an 0 for 15 against Franklin. Hits the second pitch thrown up the middle for the game winning base hit.
