Did Conner really lose that much talent to drop them to #9, ranked below St. Henry and Villa ? Can't believe they won't be more competitive this year. Glad to see Abby Janzsen get some recognition as "top ten" players in the ninth. Had the opportunity to watch her play last year against Highlands, Ryle and Newport Catholic, in my biased opinion she was the best "post" player on the floor. Don't believe me; just review stats from those games. I would rank her in the top 5 in the region. Abby Jump is a good player for Ryle, but wouldn't consider her in the "top ten". It will be interesting to see how Moss fits in with the Boone Team, certainly has the potential to be a stand out if she can get along with Nell and become a team player. Look forward to some exciting games in the ninth region this year.:dancingpa

I said last year that I'd take both Allen and Sandforss as my PG but I thought Allen was slightly better. She and Towles make a dynamite combo.

Watch the Sandlin girl. Very good.

What about Ms. Hughes and Ms. Wear from Holmes? Two very underrated players in the 9th Region.

I hear that Moss and Coach Fookes are getting along swimmingly. As far as becoming a team player, anyone who has seen her play AAU BB would understand that she IS a team player. And of course she played this summer with a couple of Boone County players and they got along vey well.

Agree with your assessment. NCC duo of Sandfoss and Tabor could be as good, but they seem to be to inconsistent, especially Tabor. Will be interesting to see how NCC will fare after losing several key players from last year. It didn't seem they had much coming off the bench to replace them unless there are some sophomores that might help. Boone is still the team to beat.

They lost 3 seniors, 2 that started and were great players. However they do have a strong bench with 7 jrs and few strong sohps. Coach Dawn will have them ready like he did last year. Boone will be very strong, agreed on that.:thumb:

Can't dispute your comments as I'm not that familiar with the subs from last year. I do know in the games I saw involving NCC last year the starters played almost all the minutes with very few bench players rotating in. I guess my question then is who are the strong bench players you refer to. Please understand not questing your statement just unfamiliar with who they might be.

NCC's J.V. won the Region Tourney last year and all of the players are returning. Several of the girls have worked very hard this summer and expecially "pre" Oct. 15th. From what I understand, there is improvement in several of the girls from the J.V. of last year.

Thanks for the info. Based on that I would think they should be as much a favorite as Boone, who lost Bradley, and certainly rated higher than Highlands.

Highlands goes from one of the deepest teams last season with 7 seniors, 3 Jrs, and soph starting point guard Allie Connor, to a extremely less experienced team this season. Only 3 seniors and 2 Jrs return to the squad. Look for a couple of very talented frosh to get a lot of varsity time.

Perhaps they'll be a better and more relaxed team now that the high expectations and all the hype has died down.
