9th Region Cats Pause Preview?

Featured Replies

Did Conner really lose that much talent to drop them to #9, ranked below St. Henry and Villa ? Can't believe they won't be more competitive this year. Glad to see Abby Janzsen get some recognition as "top ten" players in the ninth. Had the opportunity to watch her play last year against Highlands, Ryle and Newport Catholic, in my biased opinion she was the best "post" player on the floor. Don't believe me; just review stats from those games. I would rank her in the top 5 in the region. Abby Jump is a good player for Ryle, but wouldn't consider her in the "top ten". It will be interesting to see how Moss fits in with the Boone Team, certainly has the potential to be a stand out if she can get along with Nell and become a team player. Look forward to some exciting games in the ninth region this year.:dancingpa

WOW! That's a very strong statement, considering there are 7 listed above her in the Cats Pause. I guess time will tell!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!YOU MUST BE HER DAD!

How could you be unfamiliar? You scouted for your daughter for years!!!

No, I'm not her dad, but from what I hear from other coaches and fans, she would be the kind of player and leader I would want. I guess I just know how much she does for her team besides scoring. I also wonder how accurate the Cat's Pause is anyway. In the narrative part about Ryle, they talk about a player who will contribute this year and she's not even on the team. Regardless of ranking, all the girl's on the list can play and I try to remember they're just kids trying to make their teams better and that is the real achievement, not some list that is usually just speculation.

The Cats pause is pretty accurate. I would move Moss to #1 and drop Jump to #10...this is based on what little I know about the 9th region.

Well, may be you're right, I don't know. I just know there are some talented players on the list and some that aren't. I just hope they all stay healthy and have good years.

I need to clarify myself. When I said "some that aren't," I didn't mean some players on the list aren't talented. I meant there are other talented players out there who aren't on the list. Sorry for the confusion and let's just let them play and have fun. Could be interesting in the 9th Region. Sorry again.

start with the 9 other players on the list, then consider not a single player from Notre Dame, Conner, Holmes, Dixie, Villa, Holy Cross and Ludlow were selected to the top ten. I have seen Jump play on several occasions, and consider her an excellent guard, but so are Beasley (conner), gamm (st henry)

and schorer (villa); just to name a few.

No argument from me.

Totally agree! Every year their are players not listed, teams not listed.. And #1 team comes in 3rd or 4th. Pure speculation! It will be the team that plays with the right chemistry and the player that plays the best to her potential!

I think we've pounded this subject long enough. Good luck to all the girls and let's go on to something else. Happy Thanksgiving.

This thread has been dead for over a month, but was re-ignited yesterday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll agree with the teams and the players in the top ten, however I do not agree with the order. I'll keep my opinions on who is better than who to myself. I hope all of the young ladies listed have great seasons. This could be the strongest 9th Region in years.

Devin Beasley is top 10 maybe top 6 just on her defense alone. She is an awesome defender. She is also a good floor leader.
