Trust me they have no chance at state they could beat one of these teams on a give night if they were lucky but not two, and they would have to beat two to make it to the dance.

 

They will probably have to beat all 3. They will have a shot at them in the playoffs where anything can happen. Gongrats on the win and good luck rest of the season Holmes.

Holmes has NO CHANCE at state could not touch Lex. Cath, Boyle, Bell Co... Teams they will have to beat before making it to state....

Look what Boyle did to a good Lafayette team last night. Holmes would be a big "dog" (pun intended") to Boyle.

What I saw was a well coached game by the Holmes staff trying to run the ball to open up their passing game which FC had no answer for which led to such a close score early in the game. Once that was done Holmes pretty much controlled the game as far as the FC staff is concerned it was very strange to me that their kicker could kick off but they had no confidence in him to try extra points. To me they could not handle the half time adjustments that Holmes made. As far as the playoffs are concerned its one game at a time which means on any given day any one can be beat. Go Dogs!!

1999 and 2000 with coach V and 2001 with Farley were all extremely talented and all won 8 or 9 games but all of those teams also lost in the second round of the playoffs. 2001 was probably the best team of the bunch with the 2000 team sporting the best record of them all but also suffering the most embarrassing lost in an 81-0 shutout at home to Highlands!

Holmes is pretty impressive. Legit shot at state maybe? Crazy if they win one in football AND basketball.

 

Holmes is good, they are very fast. But State?? They have to go through the BOYLE COUNTY REBELS and that is not happening.

Holmes last made the playoffs in 2002. In 2001 they beat Montgomery County and then lost to LexCath. In 2002 they lost again to LC.

Holmes may be undefeated now but they will lose to Dixie this week for sure
