Yes. This is breaking news that was just reported on WPBK-FM. Local health officals are hoping that keeping people from gathering in large groups will help stem the spread of illness.

 

I think Lincoln County officials are probably making contact with Pulaski County officials now.

 

I think it is unlikely that Pulaski will want to play this game on Monday but that is the earliest that Lincoln County will be able to play.

I noticed that Pulaski County is open the last week of the season. Is there any chance Lincoln bumps Garrard to make up this game?

I hope they get a chance to make this up, but it doesn't seem very likely. That's why having your bye week the first week of the season (like LC did) puts you at a disadvantage. LC doesn't have any other open dates. Maybe they do play this on Monday, that would be best case scenerio for LC. A forfiet would be too costly $$$.

Well if they do play this one on Monday, maybe they can then get the next Friday game moved back til Saturday. ! That would help!

It does seem early. While I'm sure neither team would be thrilled about a Monday night game and a follow-up game on Friday with another district opponent, Ludlow and Brossart proved this week that it can be done. Seems really hasty by Lincoln; or perhaps Pulaski is forcing their hand?

Lincoln County offered to play on Wednesday of Week 10, Pulaski's OPEN week. Garrard County had supposedly agreed to play Lincoln County on Saturday that week. From what I have been told, Pulaski County said "no".

 

If this can't be resolved, then Lincoln will apparently have to forfeit but I don't think there has been an official forfeit, yet.

That proposal is very sensible. Garrard/Lincoln moving to Saturday would be no trouble; it's only a ten minute trip and the crowd would still be good. Here's hoping Pulaski and Lincoln can come to terms on the issue.

I don't know the details of the proposal, just that I do know that Pulaski said no to a make up date. Our sports director has been in contact with both schools. I hope it is not a done deal either, but I do find it tough to argue with PC's reasoning.

That sounds like coach Hines.

He needs to play them see what happens.

PC could be a very dangerous team late in the season. I believe they had a few skill kids hurt early in the season.

Where the game is played is not the point, Lincoln County students are prohibited from activities until next Monday.

 

It's no ones fault, just a very odd situation. Of course neither team wants to cancel the game, it doesn't really benifit anyone. But, they may be the best option. Hopefully not, I can assure you LC people are blaming PC though.:thumb:
