September 28, 200916 yr Pike has zero chance to win it, but if he keeps up this level of performance he will be deserving of an invite. Pretty amazing considering BK had the "it's almost time to get on with your life's work" meeting with him 14 months ago...

Pretty amazing considering BK had the "it's almost time to get on with your life's work" meeting with him 14 months ago... How much would the zero percent chance increase if UC could somehow incredibly make it to the national championship game? I mean, seriously, this guy has had as good a start to the season as any QB out there for a major D1 team and led his team to a top 10 ranking. He deserves an invite without question (if he keeps it up), but it would be nice to see someone give him some real consideration. I can't stand how the Heisman candidates are essentially pre-determined at the start of the season.
September 28, 200916 yr I'm just saying, he gets looks because of ND, and our guy not a sniff. Who has ND really beaten? He did make a nice throw against the Boilermakers, given credit.

If he continues to put up numbers like he has he may get into the consideration. They would need to be undefeated and beat UF in the SEC title to get to the MNC game, but crazier things can happen. Don't hate on Clausen. He has done everything asked of him this year. He is in a high profile spot and now is finally getting some credit rather than blame.

He did make a nice throw against the Boilermakers, given credit. 15/30 230 yds. 1 TD AND 1 INT against VT 18/24 241 YDS. 1 TD against FIU 13/15 176 yds. 2 TD against North Texas 17/24 291 yds. 3 TD Against Arkansas ....simply not gonna cut it. Clausen is a legit canidate because of HIM not anyone else. His numbers are great, and has led his team to a game-winning drive on the road. He deserves to be in the talk. But it is Tebow's to lose at this point.

Once the losses start adding up for teams his resume is going to look alot better. If they are undefeated after the SEC title game, and he puts up 2,800 yards and 28 TD's I think he has a shot to go to New York. I like Clausen's chances better because I think he will have better numbers and Notre Dame QB is a very, very high profile job, but McElroy could get there because of playing those high profile SEC games. I don't see either winning it though. I think they've already started to engrave Tebow's name on it.
September 29, 200916 yr ETS, you are right, I was wrong. How many players have won the award at Bama? How many Championships has Bama won? Bowl games? SEC Conference Titles?
September 29, 200916 yr Author ETS, you are right, I was wrong. How many players have won the award at Bama? How many Championships has Bama won? Bowl games? SEC Conference Titles? 0 Heisman winners, 12 claimed titles, 32 bowl wins and 21 SEC titles. What in the world does that have to do with anything?
