September 22, 200916 yr At this point in time I have to pick Jacory Harris. He has been unreal. Mustang, why so down on Clausen? He has had a great year so far. His receivers have a lot of drops and they would be 3-0 if they had a D. I think Clausen is right up there, plus he plays on a big stage every week. Because he plays on a bad team. If Notre Dame wins out, then yes, he could be a potential candidate. That however has zero chance of happening. They will lose at least 1, probably 2 more games this year. Clausen has zero chance because of that.

They can beat USC especially with the recent QB situation there. Plus they are both home games. I like the Irish in both of those so, I don't think winning out is out of the question as you claim to be. Clausen will make it happen.

September 24, 200916 yr Claussen has zero chance at winning it. It will be either Tebow or McCoy, with Best as the sleeper IMO. Yeah we will see abbout that when Claussen sees better deffenses rather than Troy, The Citadell, and Charleston Southern for Tim Tebow.:sssh: Heck, their hardest OOC (out of confrence) game is against FSU who got pounded by Miami.:eyeonyou: But McCoy has a good bid at it.
September 24, 200916 yr I think Terrel Pryor will win at least one Heisman at his tenure at TOSU. We'll see. He's no where close to being on that level right now. The media does love him though and it's sickening because he's not even one of the 5 best young QB's in college football. I'd take JH (obviously), Robert Griffin, Russell Wilson, Forcier, Barkley, and a few others over him. I think he is just a Tyrod Taylor that gets to play at a huge media market. He is an awful passer.
September 25, 200916 yr Me and Spikes were just discussing this scenario.....This is just hypothetically speaking of course because it is unlikely. Say Texas, UF, Miami, and Cal all ended up with the same record, like undefeated. If Tebow and McCoy matched last years numbers and Jahvid Best and Jacory Harris remained on their current pace: Who would win the Heisman? Projected stats (by ESPN) Tebow- 192/298, 2746 YDS, 30 TD, 4 Int. 673 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns. McCoy- 332/443, 3859 YDS, 34 TD, 8 Int. 561 rushing yards, 11 TD's. Using the projected stats for the next two, because they would need to keep their current pace to beat one of these two most likely. Best- 212 Att., 1648 yds, 32 TD, 7.8 YPC. Harris- 246/354, 3936 yds, 30 TD, 12 Int. I don't know if you could really go wrong. I will say this though, if Best could led Cal to an undefeated season and have 32 rushing Touchdowns, he would be very tough to beat. Note: McCoy and Tebow's last years stats were used because their first three games stats when projected do not show what they will most likely do for the season. I think Tebow will have more than just barely 2,000 yards passing, which is what his stats project to now. Also I don't see McCoy throwing 16 INT's.
September 25, 200916 yr I go with Tebow, and I think if UF wins another National Title, he will get and deservedly so. Here is my take on it. While in college Archie Griffin, the only 2 time Heisman winner, imo, dominated. There has not been a more dominant College football player in the past 10 years that I can remember than Tim Tebow. If anyone deserves to be a 2 time winner other than Archie, it is Tebow, and if he gets another ring and trophy, he gets it.
September 25, 200916 yr Still early, but if the guys were in their tuxes in New York tomorrow I think it would be, Tim Tebow Colt McCoy Jahvid Best Jacory Harris If there are five candidates then there will be a few fighting for the spot. More so than not I see Clausen and Berry. If Berry can maintain playing like he has been for the rest of the season he may be the fist DB since Charles Woodson to bring back the hardware. That is extremely hard to do though. Im also interested to see how JaCory Harris does for this season. I know he is for real, but can he put up good numbers and keep giving remarkable performances like he has been. This weekend against the Hokies will be a huge chance for him to prove himself to a lot of those seeking the same answers. Of course the season is still so young and anything can happen. But if schools were to launch Heisman campaigns, I think these guys are the most likely candidates.
September 25, 200916 yr Author It's almost impossible to predict the stats. Sometimes there are other factors that play into like how they performed in a big game, what they did when the pressure was on etc.. especially late in the year. Voters don't forget stuff like that.
