Thats a lot of people! I remember in 98 when Mayfield came to Crittenden Co. for the Regional Championship, there was every bit of 5000 people there and it was insanely packed, every bleacher was full and the crowd was standing shoulder to shoulder all the way around the field. A lot of people there. I can't imagine was 10k would look like.

City-county rivalry based in a football town ... very intense.

Graves has gotten much more competitive in recent years. Seems like more of the kids that would have gone to Mayfield in the past are playing for Graves

Well, if it was at Mayfield, I can't see how in the wide, wide world of sports they crammed 10 thousand in there.

They stopped letting people without tickets in the stadium at 6:30 and the rest stood around the field...I would say about 5000 in stands according to capacity from KHSAA and at least another 2-3K in the tallgating section and along the fences. Pretty impressive turnout by both teams!

There was over 9,000 people in the stadium Friday night according to Fire Marshal's office Saturday morning. That was including all the people in the stands, players, coaches, and all the people that were tailgating in the end zones plus standing room only tickets that were sold. Once it hits 9,000 people the fire marshals office had to close the gates.

It didn't hurt that both teams were undefeated roughly halfway through the season either. I had 3 empty bleacher seats just to my left... I couldn't believe they were never taken by someone. The Mayfield folks are really turning out in droves this year. Factor in the free video webcast that showed this game live and I'm sure the entire audience watching was huge.
