This game has really evolved into a nice rivalry over the years. In the recent past, there have been several times the “favored” teams lost. I suppose that’s one of the elements which make for a good rivalry.

 

Being the self proclaimed team-of-the-decade, Russell will make a game of it…..in the first half.

 

To win this game, the Tomcats will need to maintain game tempo and treat the Devils to a dose of their own medicine….long, sustained SCORING drives.

 

I don’t think we will see Russell quit playing as they did last year, but I do look for Ashland to pull away in the second half.

I will go with Coach McGlone and the Red Devils 22-21.

How well will Russell defend the 2-pt conversion?

 

Throughout the first three games, Ashland has successfully scored on the 2pt play 8 times compared to kicking only 2 PAT’s.

 

If this game comes down to kicking, be it PAT’s or FG’s, the Tomcats will be in curious territory.

The Devils find a way to win at home, 28-27.

Russell is the Team of the decade for this part of the state, but this year all that does not matter. Ashland is the better team, but if Russell upsets them it will be worth watching twice. The Tomcats I think will win it, if they come to play.

Good question. Coach McGlone is our local "Dean" of football.

 

Hart's predecessor, Larry Hall was .500 against McGlone.

 

Composite record between these two programs has the Tomcats winning 32-20-0.
