September 2, 200917 yr Personally, I loved Will Ferrell on SNL and have loved a few of his movies (Elf, Talladega Nights, Anchorman), ... but many of his movies have been just awful. Bewitched, may well be the worst movie ever made and I didn't care for Stepbrothers (parts were funny but I would not buy it). I think in some movies he is doing the exact same character. That is why the 3 movies I loved were better, IMHO, ... he was playing a character a little different. But when someone plays the same character over and over again, ... it starts to get old. I would definitely watch the sequel to Anchorman, but can't see it being as good as the original.

September 2, 200917 yr Sales is a horrible way to judge if a movie is good or not...but since you brought it up, I'd check before I made such statements. Anchorman brought in 84 mil, while Wedding Crashers brought in 209 mil. If we are using sales, that seems to back up this statement I made: :sssh: Elf made 173 mil, Blades of Glory - 118 mil, Talladaga Nights - 163 mil. I'd say pretty good to carry his own. Titanic made 600 million. I didn't know we were comparing Will Ferrel movies to all top selling movie box office results. As per the bolded: :laugh::laugh::laugh:

September 2, 200917 yr Will Ferrell works much better when he just makes brief appearances such as in Wedding Crashers or on Eastbound & Down...when asked to lead a full movie it falls apart. In some cases, yes (Semi-Pro). But I think some of his movies have been great. Anchorman and Step Brothers are both great.

You've got two great lead actors, of course it's going to make tons of dough.
September 2, 200917 yr The first one was hilarious, but at times you have to let the movie just live in its glory on its own. Some movies ruin the franchise by adding sequels, etc. I hope this is not true
