I wish only the best for GC and I'm not trying to bring up past issues but doesnt it seem like every time a new coach comes along the same thing gets said. Sorry but Greenup county has been that way ever since '78 and I really dont see it changing but trust me I hope the best comes out of it. And also hope they dont put Carter on the OL like they did Mahan. Who was one of (if not THE best) QB in the area at the time he transfered.

Blah,Blah,BLah. No coach has put any effort into bringing things together like Copley, you cant compare apples to oranges. Mahan was a great QB, but had alot of other issues (why do you think he was run out of Ashland) Its hard to put a kid at a leader position that didnt want to work and never practiced hard. Anyway who cares? Past is the past, I like to live now and think about the future of GC,and it looks great.

And BTW GC has lost 2 games and I already hear people in the stands bad mouthing the coach and the staff. Those people are never satisfied. END OF DISCUSSION

You have those at every school, nobody cares what the nay-sayers have to say right now. GC has 4 seniors that really play. What do people expect this year. Good things are coming, if they cant see the forest for the trees, Oh well.

He has to be ruled eligible, that is the only hold up on him not being in the back field.

I think Greenup has just fallen victim to trying to get a new program off the ground against (1) a team that had better players across the board in Ashland and (2) a team that had consistency and execution that can't be replicated in just a few months in Russell. If they stay the course, then they will keep improving because it looks like they have some pretty good athletes on the field. This week may be the start of seeing some results from all of the hard work.

I think Greenup wins this one 21-7. Having the first 2 games on the road in very hostile enviroments and having only 4 playing seniors would be rough for any team. Would be good to get a win and build from there.

How will the team chemistry be with the addition of Carter (when he is eligible)? I mean, he hasn't been through the fire with the rest of the team and did line up in week one against them. Coming in and taking playing time away from some could cause some hard feelings. Just asking..........

 

I think that the chemistry will be fine. He does have friends that are on the team. He's put just as much (if not more than) blood, sweat, and tears on field as anyone else. Anyone who has been through it should appreciate that. As far as taking playing time away, lets ask this....Who from GC rushed for 1500 yards last year and has the potential to go further? Give him a chance and he'll show you what he can do.

I am curious to know if C. Crum is viable option at QB or do they plan to gut this year out w/Reed? Not saying Reed isn't a good athlete anyone that has followed GC baseball knows the kid is hands down a good athlete. But my logic is that Crum has been there through out, played with or against a majority of the boys since Middle School...I know in 2 games GC threw the ball 6 times, but 0-6 three picks. Does this warrant a change under center?
