We quit talking about this after Copley was hired, ther is nomore split, as is obvious with the new middle school team, and even in JFL, where at the end of the year we will be combining to play in tournaments. GC is a new place, with a new beginning. Get on board, and quit bringing up past issues.

Not sure if he teaches, but as posted on here Coach has just been blessed with a new addition to his family... And lucky for us guys; fathers are often awarded maternity leave now a-days :thumb:

Not sure he is on maternity leave since coaching is part of the job. If indeed he were on leave, he wouldn't be coaching.

Maybe he is hand delivering the transfer papers for Carter.:lol:

I am curious to know if C. Crum is viable option at QB or do they plan to gut this year out w/Reed? Not saying Reed isn't a good athlete anyone that has followed GC baseball knows the kid is hands down a good athlete. But my logic is that Crum has been there through out, played with or against a majority of the boys since Middle School...I know in 2 games GC threw the ball 6 times, but 0-6 three picks. Does this warrant a change under center?

 

Some of the passing problems is not all do to the QB. If you've watched any game this season you'll see he's been running for his life. I'm not saying that it's all the line's fault either. There has been questionable plays being made by the QB but if you haven't played for 3years you'll have that. I know Crum and Hamilton didn't want to play QB at all during mini camp and feltner. As for the line what can you really ask for when you have only 1returning starter back. They've made leaps and bounds of improvement since camp. You also have to look they're with out a true lineman coach this year. Coach Copley has takin the dutie's with the lineman. I say it's pretty tough to coach QB's, RB's and OL's. I know they've got coach's there but if you've never played in this offense it's different. What he's done without the coaching resources is amazing!!! As of right now I think he's only has 2paid coach's rest are volunteers. I think Raceland has something like 6or7paid coach's.

Yeah the passing game needs a little help. I think once the line improves, if it ever does, everything else around it will see an improvement. The line needs to hold it blocks for a split second longer to give the QB time to set his feet and make a quality throw. That being said, however, a lot of this falls on the QB's shoulders as well. In Greenups offense it call for a lot of quick drop back and quick hits. Reed runs around too much trying to avoid tackles, lines fault, but he also don't find the open guy when he is open, QB's fault. At the Russell game last Friday if he would have looked to the left side of the Defense he would have seen that the whole side was crashing on nearly every play. Call a quick hitter to a tight end and see what happens. Worst case scenerio is it gets picked but it's not like it would ruin his QB rating.
