Yes, Bellevue did win grant money from Kellogg's. I haven't heard what they did with the money. Anyone?

 

I read something about it a few weeks ago, but I can't remember the particulars. I'll see if I can figure out where I was reading.

I always go with who I honestly think will win. I think to many people are looking at the blowout the 1st string put on Bellevue the other day, and assuming Bellevue must not be that good this year. However I think Holy Cross just has a really good team this year, and that is why Bellevue struggled some against them. I just saw Newport the other day in the scrimmage against Ludlow. So just going with those two things, I think Bellevue will pull this rivalry game out.

 

Don't get me wrong, I still will be wanting Newport to win though.

I think Bellevue's conditioning, toughness, and running game will be the major factors in this win.

 

I will take Bellevue in a good hard fought game from both teams!

If both teams had played in Week 0, I would say Newport by 10. Right now it's about even. I will go with Newport 18-Bellevue 14.

I heard the tigers used the Kellogg's grant money for new stadium lights.

I love Newport, but I can see the Tigers sneaking past us by 1 or 2 points.

I hope the Wildcats win, but the Tigers are tough to beat.

Bellevue got beat pretty good by Holy Cross last week,(I understand Holy Cross is going to be good this year) so im going to say Newport gets them by 14-21 also.

 

3 TD's is a lot for a team to beat a team by that they lost to last year. I think Bellevue has a better team this year than they did last. They are bigger stronger and faster. Who are the players that Newport picked up that will make that big of a difference? Or do you think a new coaching staff will be that big of a difference?

Bellevue did get new lights. They weren't apart of the Kellogg's grant money they were already in the plans. My understanding is that a committee is being formed to decide what the money is going to be used for. Keep in mind 15 k doesn't go that far.

Should be an interesting game. Might be able to get a little bit of an idea on how the cats stack up with district foe HC.

Tri State Internet Sports will be broadcasting both varsity games of the River City Bowl starting with the Holmes/Lloyd Memorial game at around 4:30. The Bellevue/Newport game will be immediately following the first game.

I agree with you on the 3 td's win - not going to happen. I am happy to see such a positive attitude by the Wildcat faithful, but I don't believe this years team is better than last year's team and I'm not sure about Bellevue. Thus making it hard for them to beat Bellevue - who are always great competitors. The Wildcat coaching staff is very upbeat, but it is going to take more than that to beat the Tigers on Saturday night.

The support from all over NKY was just great. Had people from many different schools calling wishing us good luck and saying they were voting for us.
