Simon Kenton/Newport Central Catholic (@ Nippert) Predictions

Featured Replies

It's going to come down to Simon Kenton being able to stretch the field. NewCath looked good against the run against Dixie. Their problems were in coverage and losing their rush lanes to allow Miller to scramble. They held Simpson to under 100 last year, and this year's defense isn't too far behind last year's at this point. It is the offense that is suffering growing pains.[/quote

Simpson was not the featured running back in that 1st game, late in the 2nd quarter when DaWalt wasn't producing yards did they bring in Miles.

He still wasn't doing much. It wasn't until the 4th quarter when NewCath had the game in hand, that he got the bulk of his yards. I think that this year he will get about 120 plus. However, what really concerns me is the improvement in QB and line play compared to this time last year. If they can stretch the field, it will be a long day. Once NewCath's staff gets a feel on how to run the offense with Hitchew, they will be fine. However, they'll still suffer some growing pains this week. I look for SK to win 28-6. I hope that that is completely wrong.

I think NC comes out strong but SK takes the win by 14.

Best of luck to both teams!

When's the last time SK was favored over NCC in football? Seems like it's been quite a while

I can't remember if they ever have been!

I will not go into injury details since he is not my son, but I assure to all of you here Miles Simpson WILL be on the field on Saturday.:ylsuper:

I heard that he would be out for a week, and would not play in this game because of his injury.

Me neither, heck it took us like 20 something years in between playoff appearances at SK prior to 2001.

Does anyone know if this will be on the radio or webcast?

I believe the game will be on Insight 6 on tape delay...

GT have you heard anything about Simpons injury?

No, but I haven't asked around either since Friday...

Was at Simon last week for NKYFL and the word was Miles is fine and will be at 100% for the game this week.

SK gets the win this year by at least 14.

No, but I haven't asked around either since Friday...

If you'd PM me if you hear anything certain I'd appreciate it.

It will be a tough one for the Breds. SK by 17. That hurts to say that, but, just being honest.
