Sounds like HC can really score this year. Norris is going to have a breakout season.

Everyone keeps saying, 'Not taking anything away from Buckler', but you are. He had around 100 yards last night against the first string. He ended up having 177 yards on 21 carries and 1 td. Everyone saw last night what happens when he gets the slightest bit of running room, gone, 65 yard td. To go along with that, he had around 20 tackles. After talking to different fans from HC and Bellevue, everyone thought he was by far the best back on the field!!!!! HC was bigger and better than I thought they would be. They should have a really good season. I think the tough early schedule by Bellevue will pay off during District time.

I believe he also had the best block of the night as well!!!!!!!

Buckler had 87 yards on the 1st string and when you get the ball 75 percent of the time its easy to have big numbers HC had 3 kids with around 100 yards Ronker 84, Smith 92, and Walker 107. All againt 1st string. And like we said he is very good but he is to good for Bellevue. He is the only one that could do anything.

Buckler is a good back, but IMO not on the same caliber as Roenker. I have to disagree with you there that he was the best back on the field that night.

They must've been talking about defensive back or something because Ricky Buckler although a good back is nowhere near Roenker. :thumb:

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But wouldn't it be interesting to see what Buckler would do behind a line with the size and athletic ability of HC's line? I think Bellevue's line does a fine job for a class A line and that is what they are a class A football team that gets their football players from a one square mile city. HC is a class AA football team. In the words of a famous Bellevue radio personality IT IS WHAT IT IS.

 

On a more positive note I thought HC had a real good football team. Roenker is a very good back but the QB Walker (?) is the real deal. I thought Roenker played very well on the D side of the ball as well. Best of luck to HC this year I think they will go far in Class AA this year.

 

I think the scheduling of HC will only make Bellevue a better team come playoff time. The Bellevue kids didn't quit they were just over matched in the end. I am looking forward to a good year for the tigers.

Kudos to HC line both O and D they dominated.

The schedule I have has HCs game against Pikeville at Belfry...is that incorrect?

 

Solid game for HC. Dominated the line of scrimmage with running game & senior laden OL. Up 36-0 before 2nd team defensive collapse and Koz explosion (putting 1st team back in for a series).

 

Will need to pass more though against tougher opponents...new offensive formation, but same philosophy (pound with Roenker, Walker, Smith). Need to throw 8-10 deep balls a game...will generate at least 2 TD's a game, guaranteed.

 

Do that, then sit back and watch how your running lanes open up...you will be amazed!!

 

Will be a bit tougher challenge next week with Class A #7 ranked Pikeville at Pikeville (Sat 8:30). Should be a good one.

I am really excited to see Holy Cross put out a good team. It will be fun to see if they can finally overcome the mountain that is NCC.

They have before in the regular season. The real test will be in the post season.
