Yep. I don't think I would actually wait for him to point the gun at me before I considered myself in danger.

The fact that he was FIRST assuming I was a threat AND going for his weapon WITHOUT knowing is VERY disturbing to me. Heck yeah, I took that as, at the very minimum, intimidation. At the maximum, threatening. I didn't stick around to do anymore but apologize to him, which he accepted (I assume he accepted since he just glared at me wordlessly), and I beat a hasty pace up the street and around the corner toward my house.

Is this a bad part of town? Do you know if the guy had been mugged before or worse?

Again, if he pointed it at you, I'd understand the intimidation part since I've had a gun pointed at me before. But,a s I said, his reaction just doesn't seen intimidating and I don't feel like he was trying to threaten you. Just my opinion.

I consider it a VERY safe part of town. My car doors and house doors are unlocked as we speak. I routinely walk at night without any fear at all. But then again, I don't go around thinking someone is out to get me.
