Somerset/Knox Central Predictions

Featured Replies

I see KC in a 20+ point win.

Knox will be too much for Somerset in this one especially without Coach Cobb.

Knox by 4 TD's

I'm hearing and seeing really good things out of the KC camp this year but I still worry about early season mistakes by all the young kids plus I have a great deal of respect for the Somerset program and the athletes they consistantly produce.

KC 21

Somerset 14

KC 26

Somerset 16

Knox Central 35 Somerset 14

KC easily.

Knox Central 28-21.

I think this might be a good game. Better than most people think, and it will be interesting to see how KCHS replaces Corey Smith and Brown and others. But I still think Coach Mills will win this one by 2 touchdowns.

Not being familiar with Knox Central, what do they run on offense?

Do they return most of last years team?

Just trying to get a feel for what I'll see Friday.

Is the SHS/KCHS game the first or second game? When it is scheduled to start?

Lost 13 good seniors from last year's best-ever team. However, the feeder programs are coming into their own now and they've restocked with some really good young players and may be even more athletic than last year. Coach Mill's teams are alway looking for the run but in a recent newspaper article he commented that the game has changed and he's looking to open it up a bit more and it appears he may have the athletes to do it. Strengths this year appear to be the linemen and a very good senior running back in Chad Merida. The QB will be a soph named Barger and word is he's making real progress. Thirty freshmen are on board this year and the Frosh team looks as big as the varsity. If the young kids develop quickly this could be a very good year. Also have gained a couple of out of state transfers with at least one scheduled to start in the backfield. Coach Mills has turned this into a solid program top to bottom. With only eight seniors on the team if they have a good year this season they'll be tough to deal with for the forseeable future.

Somerset 28 Knox Central 21

In the pre-Wayne Mills years KC has been thumped by Somerset many times, mostly due to the difference in speed. Does Somerset have that type of athlete this season?
