Whitley County/Lexington Catholic Predictions

Featured Replies

Tough one for the Colonels right out of the gate. I think the Colonels will have trouble stopping the Knights, but I don't see the knights stopping the Colonels. If Whitley takes care of the ball they will win this one 33-20:jump:

I would love to see Whitley win this one but I don't think that they are up to that level just yet. I sure hope they prove me wrong.:thumb:

You may be right, then again Whitley was the better team last year.

Where is it being played at?

If it's up there, I would have to agree with SHSF. 14-21 point loss.

If it's at WCHS, I think it would be a little closer.

I think that Whitley will have a strong showing but the Knights will be just a little too much this week.

The game is at Lexington Catholic. Whitley will be solid this year, but I can't see them staying within 21 points of the Knights.

Well, then, I'll go with my 2 to 3 touchdown loss prediction. I think that it will be early quick strikes that put the Colonels in a hole that they have trouble making up, sort of like the HHS last year. This is a rough starting game, but one that helps you see where you are, what you need to do and makes you beter late in the year.

Lex Catholic by at least 21.

South Laurel will be playing at Letcher Friday night and I don't want to make that trip, so this may be the Cosmos game of the week. The old lady needs to visit the Olive Garden and put on a few pounds, so we will be attending this game. I think Whitley can run with anybody, the key to the game will be Whitleys passing defense and not giving up the big plays. Whitley County wins this one:popcorn: 21-17

I'm with you on this one Cosmos. Colonels pull out a squeaker in the big city.

James V. Black and the Colonels get the win. Lex Cath will score some points, but I think that Whitley will score more. Make it 38 to 35 Whitley.

Bubba, I think if this becomes a shootout in the range you just predicted, that favors LexCath heavily. JMO.

If Whitley's pass defense is at or near the level it was last year they could pull out the win, when you look back at it they did a pretty good job against the pass last year, just ask South Laurel, Letcher, Clay, Woodford, etc. If they can't stop the pass it could be a really high scoring game on both sides, Knoxville Cath. could not stop the Whitley rushing attack.

It could come down to the kicking game.....

Also not having a scrimmage other than at camp, makes you wonder about how they will handle first game jitters.

The Knights strength this year figures to be the D. If they get out of the gate quick on O, then look out.
