The weather looks good for tomorrow night's game. After reading the preview for each team in the Independent, I still think it's going to be a close game between these teams that could go either way. It sounds like Boyd County has some decent players while Raceland's best players are injured. I look forward to seeing the game.

I want to see some emotion from this Raceland team, I want to see that the players want to be on the field and want to win. I am afraid that some players think it is not "Cool" to show that this game of football is important to them. That is farthest from the truth, the coaches, the fans, and the other players need to see that emotion, everyone needs to see that this team is ready to put it all on the line, and play to win.

 

I want to see that emotion. I want see some leadership from some players that should be leading this team. If that happens, the sky is the limit.

I understand what you're saying about it possibly not being "cool" for young people to show that it's important to them.

 

They signed up for the team, so they should be putting their hearts and souls into it and laying their skills on the line in front of everybody. If they win, then they get the feeling of accomplishment that comes with it. If they lose, so what? They'll still know deep down that they left it all on the field, so to speak.

 

The quicker young people figure this out in life the better. You've got to wholeheartedly try at everything you do in life because if you don't, then someone else will. Play with passion. Play like you care. If you do, you'll earn respect and, in the end, that's more "cool" than the alternative.

 

As a fan, I've enjoyed watching losing teams that truly care and play with pride as much as, if not more than, teams who might have won more games but clearly are skating by on talent and little effort.

I am really excited for this game. Not only because its the kickoff of of the 2009 season or that my alma mater is playing on saturday night (Rams), But because it has been over a decade since the Rams have played Boyd County. I faintly remember that game, but my brother, who played against them last, has been telling me some great stories about playing the mighty lions. Me and my brother will both be attending the game and this could possibly be the only game I get to watch this season. So I'd like to wish both teams the best of luck and for them to stay injury free.

 

Btw, I wonder if Bill Tom Ross will be making a trip to the county saturday, I'd say he is intriqued by this long awaited matchup

Very well said Ram!! All of it, the thing that bothers me the most are the comments from some that have been around Raceland football for a while make assessments / comments like they ......"Don't hit anyone", "those guys are soft", "Bad Attitudes", "Would really rather not play, they just want the jacket". Rams..are those comments true? Take a long, hard look at yourself before you answer. No, you certainly do not owe me anything personally...you do owe it to yourselves, your coaches, your fellow students, your community and the many Raceland fans hat have supported this program for years and years! So, in a way I guess with me being a long time fan I guess you do owe it to me bc I am a fan, not bc of what I post or who I am.

 

Raceland has been playing football since 1923 (I believe) so guys, you are certainly nothing special just by showing up and going through the motions, you have to earn it at this place.......I hope that you do. Last season had a very special group that set new standards for Ram football (12 wins). Some of this years team were a part of that. Do you remember how good it felt to work your tails off every day of every week from early spring workouts through the summer, "Camp Ram", every practice for every game? From some reports this team does no have that kind of dedication and I can tell you that ALL will notice if you are not playing hard and/or really don't want to play, you can't fake emotion and heart. Starting tommorrow night I guess we will start to find out. :eyeonyou:
