Highly unlikely. The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force has very limited ablility to operate far from home waters without the support of the US Navy and US Air Force. They rarely venture out of the Indian Ocean unless on a UN Mission and almost certainly won't dispatch ships to Antartica.

With that said, I watch this show weekly even though it is boring 75% of the time and the narration is like a broken record, a lot of the same scenes and dumb drama unfold.

 

I watch it every week. I think Paul Watson is an arrogant jerk. And, I can't stand his first mates, the two Peters, Brown and Hammerhead. They irritate me.

 

I think the Sea Shepherds act like a bunch third graders.

The Japanese profiting over 1 million dollars on just 1 whale and there are people defending this. You should watch the whales swim as fast as they can to avoid these ships and then get harpooned through the side of the head only to slowly suffocate on their own blood right after they are shot with an assault rifle about 8 times in the head when they are pulled up to the harpoon boat. Whales are not deer, meaning that you have to kill some to allow the population to grow and survive. There are a limited number of these giant mammals. Amazes me that people would condone such acts.

I pray that Whale Wars will be off the air shortly; it's just not entertaining to me, but neither is Deadliest Catch or Ice Road Truckers...or Ax Men for that matter.

We just caught up on all the episodes of Pawn Stars yesterday. FF loves it.

However, there is no limit to how many they can kill, this one specific country (Japan) set a goal of 90 Miki whales and 20 others. That is 1 country, if you feel that whales are just a resource, then I feel sorry for future generations if they can never see a LIVE one, all resources are expendable and whales, ocean life period are ver thin. There are people concerned with the other animals in the ocean, obviously you have no concern for them, therefore, you wouldn't recognize the efforts of so many.

 

Due to their size, whales are picked on and slaughtered much like elephants and other large animals, history has shown that the large creatures are the first to go because of the intrigue. Please become more aware of our resources and don't pass them over feeling they can just replenish themselves over and over.

They are allowed to set thier own limit according to the show, research signs are there for the media/exploitation, etc. The black market is strong in Japan with whale meat.
