Can anybody out there update us on the status of Scott County's schedule. Just curious because they are listed as playing host to both Clark County and traveling to Madison Central on the same night.

Well it was always listed as both Clark and Central. I guess Scott chose which one they wanted to play. No Clark County in Georgetown this season.

Hey, I see only 6 of Scott County's 10 games are at home this season...last year, they played 8 of their 10 games at home. Gotta help the athletic budget...but how do they manage to get so many home games???

 

It would seem that the KHSAA would have an issue with teams playing such a disproportionate amount of games at home...

I know Lincoln County went to Scott County in both 2007 and 2008. I assume there is some type of payment for the visiting team, but I'm not sure. As for the KHSAA, I can't imagine they would care.

Scott County offers money for teams to come there, if your not too good or much less talented, they offer you more, probably just to help out your budget though! lol

They travel to Boone County on the 4th of September.

Oldham County is going back to Georgetown this year for the second year in a row, too.

 

They (the KHSAA) probably does not care as a general rule, but if too many teams started having seasons with 8 home games, then some teams are getting cheated on their home front and they should care then. And - although it probably is all about the money for the schools - it is incumbent on schools to protect their fans, i.e., have enough home games.

 

Since the KHSAA doesn't get any of that money (paid by some home teams to visitors), they can afford to be a bit more idealistic and actually do something to protect the fans.

 

I believe the only edict the KHSAA gives schools regarding "home" vs. "away" games is the splitting up of the district games, home vs. away...

It is good to see Scott County and Henry Clay will be resuming their series this season, after a one year hiatus.

 

Typically, a high scoring tight contest with each defense having a difficult time stopping the other team.

Why has it been such a mess? It doesn't seem that difficult to schedule one game on a date and leave it as such.

 

What does stink is that now Madison Central only has eight games.

From what I have gathered it is the coaching staff's fault at MC because they did not return contracts with in 30 days of them being sent. Therefore they were void and teams went looking for other games.
