Um the elephant in the room that Kobe apologists like to leave out is he was charged so the cops and DA thought that there was enough evidence he did it. In this case either she approached the cops and they didn't think there was evidence or she skipped the cops and went for the lawsuit a year later. How quickly after Kobe's encounter were the cops notified? Didn't she go to the hospital right away?

 

I'm not saying Kobe did anything illegal, but his situation was far different.

 

 

 

To take it back to the Kobe issue, since it was brought up...... She actually waited a couple of days to go to the cops. This was after she "allegedly" went to a party the next day and bragged about her encounter and his endowment to numerous party goers. She also "allegedly" bragged about it to a male co-worker at the hotel who had a crush on her. When she went to the hospital, the rape kit showed no signs of rape, just the fact that her under garments had 2 different traces of DNA on them, but nothing that could be ruled as "rape".

 

 

I use the word allegedly because most know I am an unabashed Kobe fan, but I followed this case very closely and remember a lot of the details. Yeah she went to the cops, but she dropped the charges because she had no case, not because she was scared. She sure wasn't scared to go to civil court and eventually cash that check.

 

I could truly go on and on about the wrongness of the Kobe case, but, this isn't a Kobe rape case thread so I am done, but those who know me on here know I will always defend Kobe when he is brought up, especially about the Colorado case. Now, onto Ben.......

 

 

 

For the record, I have a hard time believing Ben did anything wrong. I always believe the athlete until video evidence proves otherwise. Someone is always trying to get over on a pro athlete.

The fact that ESPN chooses not to report this story is appalling and shameful and if I worked for the Worldwide Leader, I'd be ashamed. I'd likely get fired for reporting it anyway.

There have been at least a half dozen and perhaps more Steelers charged with assault or abuse over the past few years and yet the Bengals supposedly have character issues. Look it up. It is almost unbelievable how many Steelers have been involved in these female abuse cases. Talk about a team with character issues.

Again, I'm not saying Kobe did anything legally wrong, but there's huge differences in going to the cops the next day and waiting a year and filing a civil suit. There's also a huge difference in being charged w/ rape criminally and as of right now no criminal charges. That's been my point from the get go.

I have terrible memory, but I vividly remember a RB from just a couple of years ago being accused of beating his wife or girlfriend and playing at PBS and all of the Steelers fans cheering for him. I specifically remeber yelling wife beater every time he touched the ball. I just don't remeber his name or the charges against him.

Jerome was accused of something similar to Ben, and it was dropped. Joey Porter was shot in the rearend prior to training camp one season. Santonio with the weed. Can't recall much more than that. So, it amounts to one guy confessing to have smoked weed. I'd have carpal-tunnel if we simply typed Chris Henry's issues alone. So, please, like Jim suggests, let's get back to reality.

No they actually agreed w/ me. Most Steelers fans from my experience feel sorry for Bengals fans. There is no rivalry and even though the Bengals got lucky enough to draft a good QB it has turned into 1 playoff game for the franchise. We all know who the better franchise is. No Steelers fan IMO can say anything about Chris Henry if they cheered for Davenport.
