July 15, 200917 yr Billy the Bully Antoine Saout raised to 350,000 from under the gun, Billy Kopp reraised to 1.3 million from the hijack seat, and Saout called. The flop came . Saout checked, Kopp bet 1.3 million, and Saout folded. Kopp goes the break the chip leader with a whopping 27.8 million, and Saout has 8.43 million.
July 16, 200917 yr 14 players left, he is in 6th place with 16 million in chips. Chip leader has 26 million. Billy lost a big pot with AK vs QQ.
July 16, 200917 yr 12 players left, everybody is now guaranteed at least $896,730. Everyone that makes the final 9 will be millionaires. Billy is in 5th place with 18.9 million. Leader has 33.8 mil.
July 16, 200917 yr This sucks really bad. Billy Kopp Eliminated in 12th Place ($896,730) Wow. That's a succinct description of what just happened on the secondary feature table. Billy Kopp opened for 600,000 preflop from early position and was called by the small blind, Darvin Moon. So far, so good. On a flop of , Moon had first action and checked. He then called when Kopp bet 750,000. Again, nothing out of the ordinary yet. It was on the turn where everything went haywire. Moon checked again and drew a bet of 2.0 million from Kopp. Moon then check-raised to 6.0 million. Improbably, Kopp moved all in for about 20.0 million total. Even more improbably, Moon called! Kopp: Moon: Kopp looked like he wanted to cry when he saw Moon's hand. He knew that he was drawing dead and that Moon had him covered. Kopp had more than 80 big blinds to start the hand; with the river he had none. He didn't even wait for the river to come out, barreling out of the secondary feature table area as fast as he could. Moon is once again the chip leader with a whopping 45.0 million chips.
July 16, 200917 yr Final 9 is set and they will return in November to play down to a champion. Phil Ivey made the final 9. Still in disbelief about the last hand with Billy.
July 16, 200917 yr What a terrible way to go out...but he made the right call with going all in...just sucks to flop the flush and lose with a higher one...but have to give Moon credit for slow playing the flush
July 16, 200917 yr He was done once the flop came up. I don't see how he would have gotten away from that hand. If he was in Moon's spot I'm sure we would have seen the hand play out the same.
July 16, 200917 yr 900k will a go a long way to sooth the pain. I guarantee you he doesnt see it as winning 900k. He see's it as losing 7.5 million.
July 16, 200917 yr Congrats on a great run! However IMHO........ The situation makes it a bad play. The reasons I would not shove is you have over 80BB, only 12 players left, you are second in chips, you have been checked raised by he chip leader on a paired board with a small flush. When Moon check raises the only hand you are beating is a bluff and Moon according to all reports has been hit with deck and has shown down good hand after good hand. If your wrong and he is not bluffing you are out. Moon said this after they played down to 27 "That’s just my style. I play tight. When I get them I bet and when I don’t, I fold." The nit chip leader c/r on a paired flushed board and he shipped it with 5 high flush when he was 2nd in chips and against the only player that could knock him out.
