I thought Obama did not want to interfere with the internal affairs of other countries. He does nothing about countries that potentailly could harm us, but when Honduras ousts a potential left-wing nut job like Chavez, he jumped right into the middle of it. Why do you think he jumped in here so quickly?

 

The President of Honduras was holding a referemdum that the nation's Supreme Court said was invalid, even if held. It looked as if he was violating the nation's Constitution, he was just looking to install himself as a lifetime President. Another way of saying dictator, similiar to Chavez.

His handling of the Iranian situation has been prudent and has nothing to do with an isolationist approach to US foreign policy.

 

Honduras' military removed their leader. Despite Zelaya's ideology and his efforts to extend his term, he was the elected leader. Personally, I support democracy over only supporting ideologies the US finds agreeable. Considering this along with the US's miserable track record in Latin America with installing and supporting undemocratic, but agreeable leaders, I don't find fault with Obama's comments.

It is free country, you are allowed to believe what you want. Even if what you believe in is wrong.

The Honduran president could have been ousted legally. What possible reason can you give for making the accusation that Obama like strong arm rule?

While I know that President Bush sent troops in and President Obama has not, the U.S. gets way, way too involved in the affairs of other countries, whoever is in office. I understand that it is a fine line to decide when intervention is appropriate and when it is not, but I get sick of the U.S. acting like the world police, and, more importantly, overextending its military while homeland defense struggles.

If he is against strong arm rule why did he not quickly condemn the recent actions taken against the protesters in Iran? Yet he was quick to condemn the actions in Honduras. The reason he jumped on it was because the Honduran President is a leftist, like Obama, and was violating the Honduran Constitution, much like Obama is violating the US Constitution with the takeover of the banks and car companies and the planned invasion of the sancitity of our homes with the energy bill. If your not familiar with this, John Boehner read from the energy bill last Friday that government officials will come into your home, if you wish to sell, to give it an energy inspection and you will not be allowed to sell if it does not pass. Talk about toeing the party line.
