Do you include the finals last year?

When it comes to goal tending calls...why is everyone forgetting that Howard went through the rim to block Pau's dunk early in game 2. Game 2 never should have been tied at the end of regulation in the first place.

 

Just on the goaltending?

 

I don't buy that either. A goaltending early in the game has no effect on the end. Sure it would be another two points, but who knows how that 2 points would have effected the strategy for the rest of the game. Maybe one of the teams win by 10, maybe it's the same score, but we'll never know.

Just out of curiousity......when was the last time Kobe has choked like he did tonight? When he missed free throws in the 4th and multiple game tying or lead changing shots? I know I don't know.....I've never seen him this bad in a 4th quarter that ultimately cost the Lakers the game.

You can't use that logic just because the shot happened at the end of the game either, had Lee made the layup 9 seconds earlier it's a whole other ballgame......PLUS, Orlando had 5 minutes to win the game and they failed.

Give examples of who is better and we can continue the discussion. All this game did was give you convenient reasoning for debate which is really hate for Kobe. I have to be at work at 6:30 and really don't feel like going through all of this.....again.

 

 

The Black Mamba has 1 bad 4th quarter and you are ready to pounce, but I am not surprised...and it's still all good.

That's just it Purple, I can't give any examples to prove me wrong. When in the playoffs has Kobe hit a shot with the team down at the end of the game? A few examples would be nice.

 

And it's not hate, I really do like watching Kobe play. It's a double standard though. Other players miss a shot at the end of the game and they're not clutch. Kobe hits a shot with his team up by four and he's the greatest closer in the game. He has the ability to deliever the knock out blow, but does he have what it takes to make the huge plays to come from behind? Those are the tough shots. Most of the clutch shots he makes end the games, but the Lakers could potentially still win without them.

 

All I'm saying is I need examples man, because I'm saying people need to look at the entire body of work and not just the kill shots.

True like I said, we really have no idea how one missed call or shot effects the rest of the game unless it's at the end. If Lee makes that shot maybe the Lakers hit a 3 and win in regulation.

Well he didn't really play all that well in game 2 during the 4th, revert back to most close games the Lakers play in that they are losing. Maybe he doesn't miss a FT, but Kobe is much better near the end of games when the Lakers are winning. Maybe we'll get to see it happen again.

But, before I go....the only statement I have made is that he is the most clutch in the NBA. To me, it takes more than a game winning shot to make you clutch. Kobe has hit shots to put his team up 3-4 points and hit shots to keep a lead at 4 points as well. That is still clutch. Think Dirk Nowitzki, game 3 vs. Denver when he missed a shot to put Dallas up 4 and then whoops, Melo hits a three, Denver is up 1, whoops, game over. Shots and free throws that keep your team ahead are clutch shots. No one does that better than Kobe. Except for tonight. Again, enjoy it, it won't happen again anytime soon.

Agreed, he had a bad 4th quarter last game, but not this bad. He cost them the game tonight, IMO. Everyone came through in the 4th quarter but him tonight.:cry::madman::irked::cry:

You guys act like it's a travesty the Lakers lost the game and Kobe is so overrated. Orlando didn't get to the Finals by luck, they are a good team.

Never said that he wasn't. I just want someone to prove my claims invalid. No one has really evaluated that, to my knowledge. He gets the closer from the daggers, not really the same way that alot of other clutch guys have made their names. He's still clutch, but I think others are just as good at the end of games.
