May 29, 200917 yr Sunday was Ladies' Day where I grew up. We would go to the liquor store after church because mom got a discount on Sunday.

Never understood why it was preferable for religious folks that people go to a restaurant, get loaded, and drive home rather than they just buy it at the store and take it home and drink, where they're not out on the roads. :confused: I know there are some people in Danville that will only eat at applebees on Sunday...Because that is the only day they do not serve alcohol... I know some that will only eat in those kind of restaurants out of town...They don't think it's right in their own town... After sixteen years I have become numb to the culture shock...:isurrender:

That was preferable than going to Tennessee to pay their outrageous prices.

Jesus did the wine thing for his Mother and unlike Admiral I don't really get the example. Guns kill people that are handled by people. Drunks are drunks. I came from a dry region in Alabama and there were still drunks in the area, thanks to Tennessee. I was expressing my sorrow over the countless of lives that have been lost due to driving drunk, and if they made America a dry nation I'd be extremely happy. Larry Mahoney was a nice person, a good ole boy, wouldn't hurt anyone. I pray that no one dies ever from a DWI driver. And finally Siran Stacey running back from Bama lost his wife and 4 children due to a DD.

Prohibition was a big mistake in our countries history.

I am also saddened when someone is killed by stupidity from DUI... Just as I am saddened when I hear someone is killed by a accidental shooting...Most of the time from just plain stupidity... So I guess you would be happy to have a dry nation that has twice as much crime or more? Do you think a bootlegger checks Ids? I would be willing to bet that there are more Drunks that live in a dry area than a wet one...Dry county drunks stock up... In my opinion Alcohol consumption is no different than food consumption...It should be done in moderation... Larry I know where you are coming from and I do respect your opinion... God gave us freewill and our great country gave us freedom... If someone breaks the law then they should be punished...By God and the courts...:thumb:
