The Cavs don't have any athletic bigs who can guard Superman. It will be a fun series. I like the Cavs in 7.

I say LeBron, because he's the entire Cavs team. The rest of that team is role players IMO. Williams is pretty solid, but other than that, they are all decent, but nothing spectacular.

 

The Cavs big men are terrible. Howard is going to have a field day this entire series. They also have no one that can guard Lewis.

LeBron can't guard the big guys too. It's like the Kobe thing, when Scola and Landry were tearing it up, what could he do about it?

It almost seemed like the rest of the Cavs thought they were back a couple years ago against Detroit. They were just standing around watching LeBron try to do it all. It may have worked against the Pistons, but it will not work against this Orlando team. All 5 guys in their starting lineup can go for 20-30 on any given night.

Magic take game 1. No one but me and UKMF thought they could do it.

 

I was a little suprised that Orl won at Cleve but not shocked. I bet on Orl tonight. They have really gotten the better part of Cleve this year.

On a side note I wish LeBron would have left the floor after the game. I was embarassed for him. He looked like one of the 6th grade kids I coached back in the day that would lay on the field acting hurt if they missed a tackle. It's a cramp...go to the lockeroom and rub it out instead of looking for the cameras!

1. Orlando shot 55% for the game. In the second half, they had to be shooting around 75% or so it seemed watching it live. Every player on their team played as well as they could, and they still barely won.

 

Rashard Lewis must not have missed in the 2nd half. Pietrus heated up. Turkgulu was out of his mind. Howard was scoring like crazy and not just dunks.

 

I think this was a wake up call for the Cavs. Until midway through the 3rd, it really wasn't much of a game. During timouts, they would watch the skits on the jumbo-tron and just goofed off. The Magic caught fire, and seized control of the game. Give them credit. I don't think they shoot like that the rest of the series.

 

A few adjustments need to be made though for the Cavs.

1. Varajao needs to guard Howard. Big Z is too slow and unathletic.

2. Varajao cannot be expected to guard Lewis. He is needed in the paint, and cannot close out.

3. A smaller line up should be used more often. Or perhaps, Wallace to guard Lewis with Varajao guarding.

 

 

I think the Cavs will be fine. They took the Magic's absolute best shot and still could have won. No one outside of LeBron and Varajao played particuarly well.

I thought the play of the game was when Cleve decided to go with a big lineup up 2 when Orl hit the last 3. Dumb coaching move I thought. I would not have let them get a 3 ball off. I know LeBron was cramping but Howard had fouled out and you are at home. Worst case tie game and you have the ball instead of down one.

1st quarter, not so much the 3rd. You could just feel it in the arena, Big Spikes was beside me and he said that he could tell about a minute into the 3rd that the Magic would come back.

 

Orlando will not shoot like that the entire series. Howard will not average 30, some of the shots he hit tonight were not the kind of things he hits consistently. He will have some good games but he will be no where near 30 a game, IMO.

 

It really wasn't that they just stood around that hurt them, it was when he was hot and (1) he was set down, (2) he went about 3 minutes without touching the ball.

 

If the Cavs rotate better on defense they will be fine. The Magic really did nothing that concerned me. They hit open shots, that is what professional teams do, especially a team built for it.

 

I don't think the Magic can handle LeBron. They have no one that can match up with him, and when Howard helped either he fouled or Varajao had a layup. The series may go to 6 or 7 now, but the Cavs will win it.

 

This is really what they needed. After the game, it was like no one, not the players, the coaches, the fans could believe they lost. They needed this. Orlando, im my mind cannot beat them. If you blow a game at home against the Lakers or the Nuggets, it could lose you the series. If Mike Brown is even worthy of being a coach at any level the Cavs will win. They should have tonight, but they didn't.
