May 3, 200917 yr The movie is suprisingly good. I think it is the best of the X-Men releases to date. I was turned off by the bad reviews, but went to see it anyway.
May 3, 200917 yr I am with HB I would trust RottenTomatoes or Metacritic before I would trust anyone except my closest friends. Having never been a huge Wolverine fan anyway I am not really fanboyish on this one either. 37% and 44% respectively, not terribly enticing. Just to gauge movie preferences for those that liked the movie, did you also like X-Men 3 or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?
May 3, 200917 yr PepRock, I have even talked to a friend that said it wasn't that good. One who is usually right on regarding movies. He and I have the same taste in movies...so I definitely trust him. I might rent this one.
May 3, 200917 yr I just got back from watching it. It was okay--not great but not a waste of time either. I rated it a 6/10 on IMDB. I didn't think it was edited very well. They tried to pack too much of the backstory into the first 20 minutes and it left it a little bit jumbled.

I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan and I took off work to see Crystal Skull at midnight on opening night. I was sadly disappointed as many people seem to have been with it. I thought X-Men three was kind of lame. Too many mutants running around, cheesy special effects, and an ending that left me down on the X-men franchise. I went to see Wolverine only because a friend wanted me to go. I was pleasantly suprised that it was really good. The rotten tomato and other ratings I have found to be a little 'off'. I think highly anticipated and cult movies don't get fair ratings initially. Give it some time and see if it levels off and the score rises. The first weekend was probably full of die hard X-Men fans who will never be satisfied with what they got.
May 4, 200917 yr I went and saw it tonight, and I am not going to lie, I am a little disappointed. It was a decent movie but I liked all the other X-Men movies more than I did this one. I still really enjoyed it though.
