KHSAA rejects requests

Featured Replies

The KHSAA Board of Control rejected requests of two schools to change regions in basketball. Harlan County wanted to move from the 13th to the 14th, and Fleming County wanted to go from the 16th to the 10th. The board agreed to reconsider the requests in the future.

Sheldon Clark was moved to the 60th district.

I may be reading something out of nothing, but it sounds like the KHSAA is waiting to move teams before the 2010-11 season, like some of the threads a month or two ago were stating. I think they take up re-alignment in two years. As far as Fleming Co. is concerned, just a hunch, but in 2 years, Fleming Co. will be back in the 10th Region.

The next realignment will be a cataclysmic shift, which is why they're probably waiting until then.

I'm guessing they are waiting on the Muhlenberg and McCracken county consolidations before they make too many changes.

Plus, they'll also be making room for new schools in Nelson County, Warren County and Laurel County.

Laurel County? Can you elaborate on that?

There's been talk about a West Laurel HS for several years.

I agree. Some new schools forming, consolidation of some others.
