This is totally off topic, but does anyone every read these threads with height and weights and realize that they'd now play O line? I'm probably over all in better shape than in HS, but when looking at rosters now adays I'm now a linemen instead of a RB/LB. Just find it interesting.

 

Now that I'm done with that, how's Highlands O line looking? They've always had such great skilled players that their big boys don't get a great deal of notoriety, but they tend to have some good guys up front that REALLY help with their team speed.

Highlands returns 3 from last years line and two TEs. Grubbs and Schlosser will both be All State candidates. Highlands O Line coach, Scott Turner is the key berhind the continued success for this unit.

Marcum 6'3 265, Howard 6'4 305, Collett 6'4 260, Lawson 6' 1 255, Hilton 5'11

220, one other spot to be decided, Possibly Miracle 5' 10 235, Marsee 6'1 240 Carter 6'6 280( Frosh).

 

I knew they had alot coming back. It looks like they will be loaded again. It will be easy for Hilton to find a way for to move the ball and score.

Simon returns three starters anchored by 6'4" 300 Jordan Hansel. (He is on everyones short list, on a side note stopped by SK yesterday and it looked like the entire UC coaching staff was there.) Derick Piccarilo 5'11" 240ish and 5'11 250 Adam Heindrick(sp) also return. They will have two other solid replacements for the two graduating seniors.

Snyder is the name of the young man from Carlisle. Johnson looked pretty good playing O tackle, although the coaches may decide to keep him on D only. Another player that looked good in Spring was Weegan or Keegan (I don't know why I just can't keep this kid's name right in my mind). And I wouldn't count out the Meyers boy either. Conditioning and weightlifting between now and practice beginning will have a large say in who mans the open O line spots. I won't be so bold to say this unit will be the best O line in the state (how can one really know) but they should be very, very good if everyone keeps working hard.

 

 

Keenan Weegan, probably the smartest kid in his class also.

Louisville Male returns it's entire offensive line. 3 year starter and D1 prospect Senior Dominique Davis 5'11" 290, 3 year starter and LB Senior Garrett Breiner 6'0" 220, 2 year starter and DL Senior Demarius Gibson 5'10" 230, 2 year starter the Center Senior Cody Philhower 6'2" 260 and 2 year starter Junior Jason Veto 6"4" 250, along with some great backups should be one of the strengths of the team.

Bryan Station is big and athletic, they lost three off this unit so they could be very good if they come together as a unit.

Front line goes:

LT - 6'5" 275

LG - 6'1" 305

C - 6'2" 301

RG - 6'5" 285

RT - 6'6" 295

By the way I've seen more than one person tout a player as a D1 prospect, FYI no lineman under 6'3" is a D1 prospect.

Boyle should be pretty solid as well. Never the biggest but very disciplined.

That is The size of kids as of last year isn't it? I saw JD Hilton the other day, he looks taller than 5'11 to me. I'd say that Carter will get the other starting spot. I hear hes a pretty strong kid. And Mike Howard is an absolute beast on the line, didn't even get to participate the full summer last year over a health issue. Can't wait for next season to get here:ylsuper:

That it does. People tend to forget that speed and quickness on the O line is critically important. It's great to be big and strong, but if you are big and strong, but slow, you are in a heap of trouble when you have to match up with quick D linemen and you don't have much chance at all at getting out to block a lber.
