April 13, 200917 yr I wish Junior would just call it quits. He is doing nothing right now to enhance his image as one of the greatest players ever. Perhaps it's just due to my age, but I really don't have any firsthand recollection of the greatness of Willie Mays in his prime. But I do remember a feeble old man still trying to hang on with the Mets well after he should have left the game. I would hate to see this same thing happen with Griffey.

I do remember seeing Mays in 73 with the Mets and it was pitiful. Griffey is not that bad YET but he is certainly not even half of what he was in his prime, thus, he is diminishing his career. I hope this is his last year.

He struggled last year, but apparently he was playing with a bad knee all year long. I don't think anyone is going to argue that he is the player that he once was, but I'm willing to give him a little more time before I label him as a feeble old man trying to hang on to the game.
April 13, 200917 yr Griffey obviously doesn't have much left in the tank ... he can't hit lefties and his defense makes him a better fit at DH, even if he doesn't really hit like one at this point.
April 13, 200917 yr Dunn came up against the Marlins recently in the 9th with bases loaded, 2 outs, and the Nats down 3. He got walked on 4 straight pitches and the Marlins manager said it was the best walk he's ever seen. Long year for Dunner walking to first base.
